Heating being turned off...

I currently pay £150 a month but that puts me in quite a bit of credit for the winter months. Coming to the end of my term and the best fixed tariff they could offer me was £400+ a month! Current usage on price cap/variable rate is still going to be £200+. It is going to hit a lot of people hard when this kicks in.

Was anyone with Together Energy? They have gone bust and I’ve been notified that British Gas will be taking over. I can’t get through to them to clarify account and the general rhetoric is they’ll get in touch.

Good job Boris is focused on the problem with his lazer like vision.
Rather than trotting off stage and into Europe to start a war. Look another dead cat!!
Now he might be feigning a story about helping the poor, not that it matters, because they now know better than ever not to back Johnson.
His problem will be with his middle little Englanders who find themselves skint. They will soon be realising that they are not wealthy enough to be on the tory gravy train. Sadly they weren't intelligent enough to realise that it was always going to leave without them. Oh dear, how sad, never mind chaps. At least you will be able to vent your anger in the May LG elections.
At least we now have control of our borders. And, don't forget the levelling up that is currently delivering record growth in poverty and foodbanks. Great work by Truss too, with that big f off jet, trying to keep us all warm.

it may have come back down by then, the main issue is gas prices are several times higher than they were and and a lot of our electricity comes from gas powered stations so its a double whammy.Some of them figures are scary. Currently pay £90 a month for gas and leccy in a 4 bed house. Still got 21 months left on a fix rate.
God knows how much it will have gone up to by the end of that
regarding businesses, have a look at some of the rates they are being quoted for energy and their standing charges talk about eye watering, i'm with octopus and i am sure they have upped the electricity unit price on the deal they were offering the other week to over 32p per unit compared to 26p

Surely the 'end game' has to be better build quality of new houses & retro-insulation etc? My brother keeps mentioning geo-therm heating. Is that a viable option ?
Most new builds here in the USA are , imv, poorly designed . Massive houses but very open plan so the heating is an issue.
That said, it is currently -9C here in NY so the heat is up!
