Heavy Snow Expected Here in Herts on Friday

UK snow map: Brutal -6C Atlantic deep freeze to deliver 'heavy snow' days before Christmas

BRITAIN is bracing for a deep freeze during December, as the latest long-range forecasts have predicted snow could arrive just before Christmas.

Apparently, Welwyn will be cleaner and more attractive to investors by Christmas..

The biggest regret of moving south is lack of snow (and no northern lights), as I love the stuff. I’m a proper chocolate box village in the snow romantic, but tbh we’d not really had much up north for maybe 5 years before I left.

Like others on this thread I love snow especially now I have the 'machinery' (and tyres) to deal with it. Back in January 2013 I finally achieved my ambition of not being able to go to work 'cos I was snowed in. It wasn't falling snow but drifting off the fields from high winds that blocked the lane. Mind you come the afternoon some miserable sod from NYCC put a snow blower through it (the tractor plough failed miserably).

Fingers crossed for later this week. (y)

Same year I got 'snowed in' too as my dinky little works car at the time couldn't get up the steep driveway out the back of my then flat.
Went bum boarding up the shooting box next to Roseberry Topping instead that day.

Always fancied getting stuck here - but its never been bad enough and managed to get back to civilisation! Damn!

On black plaggi - bags over the rocks under the snow ;@))

Is that blakey? There's a great story of staff and guests being stuck for 9 days. My idea of heaven being stuck in a pub for 9 days

Brilliant, what an adventure! Would have been different without food and drink no doubt, but that sounds like a real experience, love it

Tan Hill - Cycled round there in summer and spring months.
Its got provision for tents now - so it would be brilliant to be stuck in a tent, surrounded by snow with not a soul in sight (y)

Didn't know they were accommodating tents, just campers and motor homes - as soon as they get EHU, we're off up there in a motor home
