Haven’t seen any for two years. Friday looks like a potential white out down here.
Given your southern latitude, by the use of the word 'heavy' and 'white-out', I presume you mean about 1/2". Mind you even that would undoubtedly bring the place to a standstill.Haven’t seen any for two years. Friday looks like a potential white out down here.
Yes and er yepGiven your southern latitude, by the use of the word 'heavy' and 'white-out', I presume you mean about 1/2". Mind you even that would undoubtedly bring the place to a standstill.
Same year I got 'snowed in' too as my dinky little works car at the time couldn't get up the steep driveway out the back of my then flat.Like others on this thread I love snow especially now I have the 'machinery' (and tyres) to deal with it. Back in January 2013 I finally achieved my ambition of not being able to go to work 'cos I was snowed in. It wasn't falling snow but drifting off the fields from high winds that blocked the lane. Mind you come the afternoon some miserable sod from NYCC put a snow blower through it (the tractor plough failed miserably).

Fingers crossed for later this week.
On black plaggi - bags over the rocks under the snow ;@))Same year I got 'snowed in' too as my dinky little works car at the time couldn't get up the steep driveway out the back of my then flat.
Went bum boarding up the shooting box next to Roseberry Topping instead that day.
Is that blakey? There's a great story of staff and guests being stuck for 9 days. My idea of heaven being stuck in a pub for 9 daysAlways fancied getting stuck here - but its never been bad enough and managed to get back to civilisation! Damn!

When we were 17/20ish we used to head up to Blakey Ridge every time it snowed heavily with the intention of getting snowed in for the night. I think we were living in a fantasy world where they'd put us up and give us free beer all nightAlways fancied getting stuck here - but its never been bad enough and managed to get back to civilisation! Damn!

Brilliant, what an adventure! Would have been different without food and drink no doubt, but that sounds like a real experience, love itIs that blakey? There's a great story of staff and guests being stuck for 9 days. My idea of heaven being stuck in a pub for 9 days
Experience: I was snowed in inside a pub for nine days

Didn't know they were accommodating tents, just campers and motor homes - as soon as they get EHU, we're off up there in a motor homeTan Hill - Cycled round there in summer and spring months.
Its got provision for tents now - so it would be brilliant to be stuck in a tent, surrounded by snow with not a soul in sight
