Here comes the Mone

Im genuinely unsure what legally she has done wrong.
She is a liar, morally bankrupt but won a tender (not her fault).
If the goods were faulty there is a legal route but, if she pays the money back I think that’s it.

Anyone else know?
She didn't report her interest to the house. This isn't ileagal, of course but it should get her kicked out of parliament.

The fact that the nca are still investigating suggests strongly that there is a criminal element.

All that aside, profiteering on the back of a pandemic is unconscionable.

She facilitated her husbands illegally registered company in winning a contract utilising her government contacts that supplied counterfeit and unfit for purpose product. Her husband should be charged for illegally hiding his ownership. They should also have to repay the full £300 million plus interest plus a substantial fine in the same way someone wrongly claiming benefits would be.

The NCA investigation into them both is in relation to allegations of conspiracy to defraud, fraud by false representation, and bribery ...

I don't think the NCA have any interest in her 'lying' to the media. Maybe Kunsberg could have asked her why she thinks she is being investigated for criminal activity to make it clear that, yes, she has potentially done something wrong as far as the law is concerned?

criminal investigations

A tender was not won. It was awarded via a illegal process (illegal as defined by UK Supreme Court) to a company with no track record, no staff and no premises.

Many genuine suppliers were overlooked and ignored whilst they doled out these contracts to their bent mates.

Due process should have been followed then and should be followed now.

They used covid as an opportunity to rifle the nations bank account.

They should now feel the full force of the law. All of them, Johnson and Sunak included.

I am sure they don't have any interest in the fact she lied. I was referring to the transaction more generally.

Yeah I guess that could explain the subject for the petition. The one thing she has unambiguously done is lie to the press. It’s a pretty poor charge for a politician, but it is an admitted one.

There looks to be an arguable breach of the disclosure duties in the Lords. I know she claims that the cabinet office said she would be fine, but I think the duty is in the end on her there even if badly advised.

It’s quite possible there is nothing in the way of more formal breach by her of something more serious, or at least not one that anyone dares make the subject of a petition.

I remember at the time they visited a huge PPE contractor nearly Burnley I think well def in the north west and that did this for a living and had the means to mass produce and had a track record delivery high quality safety good to order.

They interviewed the boss of the company who said he was ready to go tomorrow and would love to help but as yet had never had a response to their numerous calls offering to help.

Btw the bbc followed up on this story and they did indeed make ppe for the govt but it was the US govt as the uk govt never got back in touch.

Yeah but finny’s question was what SHE had done illegally. Any alleged breach of registration rules by him is on him and if it meets the criminal standard, he should be charged. Any allegation the goods were counterfeit is a matter of civil law for the supposed legitimate owner of the intellectual property. If the goods were not fit for purpose, the government shouldn’t have paid for them. But none of this is an allegation of unlawful activity by her. Still less, an allegation of criminal activity by her.

As far as possible loss of her ennoblement is concerned, that’s a political issue, I would’ve thought, and the possible breach of the disclosure rules seems a more relevant thing than the fact she lied to some journalists.

The cornered rat analogy will come into play as soon as the election is announced. The RWM going full US of A in their lies, untruths, misinformation, trying desperately to make the gullible believe. And guess what.....a lot of it WILL work and sh*t WILL stick.

The Mail and Sun are working on their headlines as we speak -

‘EXCLUSIVE! Think the PPE scandal was bad???
Well today we can reveal a Labour junior councillor‘s son stockpiled 48 bog rolls and bought 2 hand sanitisers when Tesco was limiting it to one per customer, thus proving the shameful hypocrisy of Starmer’s Labour. We must not allow these crooks into power!’
By special investigative journalist B. Johnson.

You laugh but that’s exactly what will happen next as all part of the tories we are all as bad as each other strategy that they are basing the next election on.

Her husband set up a company specifically to cash in on the need for PPE. She endorsed that company in the knowledge that it had just been set up and it was in no way proven able to supply said PPE in the way companies such as Arco were.
For me that is criminal behaviour from them both. They could have been transparent about their involvement from day 1 and it still wouldn't have changed the fact that they were in no way an established PPE vendor.
If anything, the government should have been contacting businesses who were already set up and established and moving hell and earth to help them ramp up supply.
No, the Tory way is to let your mates profit be they MP's, Lords or ex-pub landlords.

Let’s be honest if they did start digging then where would it end as they are all guilty sunak bojo the whole corrupt stinking lot.

I expect the oh it was difficult time and we’ve now moved on as they tried with party gate.
