Hope they get banned

Come off it, they were a very long way away, like I said, whoever shot from the Boro fans, hell of a shot.

I've sat in those seats near the away fans multiple times, it is not particularly far from the corner flag.

It's easy to throw a coin that distance, if it did come from that direction.

It was a Boro fan.

It was definitely from the Boro fans in the south stand, more than one was thrown as well. And the same also happened at full time

Are people really suggesting Burnley fans would throw a coin at their own players celebrating the goal that got them promoted?

Great.
Knowing our past relationship with the FA, that’ll be a 35 point deduction incoming, for ‘failure to control our chav tvvats’.

The goal celebration was incendiary. Do you think the Burnley players would have been pelted with coins if it wasn’t for that? Not excusing it but you run the gauntlet with such a celebration.

I remember Bellamy celebrating wildly in front of the East stand years ago in a Tees-Tyne derby and getting pelted with all sorts.

The stadium looked better last night with less segregation in the South Stand but incidents like this may make the club think twice before opening that area again.

Same argument as women wearing ‘sexy’ clothing getting abused.
’asking for it’ is never a good defence

Poor response that...... They'd just got promoted to the top flight. They aren't robots.

You are excusing it.

Wow, well defended Joey. Players celebrate with fans shocker!

Incendiary - no way. Players celebrate winning goal (that clinches promotion back to the PL) in front of their own fans.....0/10 for sh*thousery that.

Fan who throws coin - total f*cking d*ckhead who will hopefully be identified and banned.

Roberts runs away celebrating in front of the South stand with his fingers on his lips directly looking at the Boro fans.

His team mate got a coin to the eye because of that.

A finger on his lips is possibly the least incendiary goading I can think of.

It's absolutely nothing, and only an absolute pr*ck would resort to violence in response to it.

Even if he'd bared his **** to the Boro fans, their players wouldn't deserve to be pelted with coins.
