There are more expensive things than Teesside International Airport coming out of our taxes. Teesside had a good airport in the early 2000s with nearly a million passengers per year. It was doing better financially than the crap Leeds Bradford which is built on a hill and can close if the weather is bad. Unfortunately Teesside was poorly managed and Leeds Bradford took up the slack. Time for Teesside to rise again. Good long runway. Can attract the Durham / Sunderland / North Yorkshire population and keep the prices down.It will never make a profit, so it's coming out of all our taxes.
Interestingly there’s no other guests, food, drinks, well wishes from guests in the Facebook comments. It’s as if it never happened
Interestingly Teesside Airport doesn’t seem to be listed anywhere as a wedding venue.

'lack of professional oversight' is a very polite way of putting it. More like an unyielding resistance to any form of oversight.I've said on here a few times, the issue with Houchen and the MDC is that absolute lack of professional oversight.
Without that how does the public interest be ensured? Corruption and/or poor decision making can happen without and redress.
Yes, I guess 'unprofessional' oversight would be better than what they currently have, which is none.'lack of professional oversight' is a very polite way of putting it. More like an unyielding resistance to any form of oversight.
What's your point. He doesn't need to. However, Houchen could always take Private Eye to court. And so could the guy that wheres Wally is based on.Will McDonald repeat his corruption allegations outside of parliamentary privilege?
I think not.

If Teesside was to establish itself as a regional airport it needed to have happened 40 years ago. Talk about missing theWant to buy a bridge?
The money would be better spent upgrading the rail system to make Leeds and Newcastle airports more accessible in a faster timeThat's just it though, the population that are closer to Teesside Airport and have demand for it's limited flight schedule are very unlikely to make it profitable, thus it's probably better to lose it and invest the money in something with a greater long term benefit.
Very true, and that in itself would be infrastructure that could serve other purposes like quicker times to newcastle and leeds centre. The money would be vetter spent upgrading the rail system to name Leeds and Newcastle airports more accessible in a faster time
They're certainly more accessible by rail than Teesside AirportThe money would be better spent upgrading the rail system to make Leeds and Newcastle airports more accessible in a faster time
