How many left for home leg?

Nah I've always been the one to buy tickets for family. Never linked anyone

This is exactly what happened to me. I've gone all season to most home games with my two sons but as I've been the one buying the tickets it will only let me buy one ticket despite the record of me always buying 3 tickets. Spent 2 hours in a queue on the phone, just to be told the same thing. Wouldn't dare just get a ticket for myself and tell my boys they're not going, so it'll be telly for us. Shame.

Haven't been for 2 years as I live away, was hoping to come back for this game but have 0 priority points. Do you think they'll sell me one on the phone seeing as I do have a purchase history i.e. not a Coventry fan? Or do you think their system won't let them?

And this is what is wrong with the loyalty scheme, you have people buying for others or worst still, borrowing SC holders accounts to get tickets for away games, the account holders points rocket and, when it comes to the business end, those attending beforehand can end up missing out but some of the accounts used who may not have actually attended many games (especially away ones) get first dibs.

It is all well and good when it comes to Wembley as it will go to general sale, but imagine if one day we have another Eindhoven where not even all SC holders would get tickets, but SC holders who buy tickets for others to go or let their account be used, can jump on the points bandwagon, be one of the first in the queue, even though they may never have gone to an away game.

Just wondering what makes you think they will get to general sale - a lot are hoping btw.
Seems we will get around 35000 - if last year is anything to go by,
Cant remember how many STs we have

As long as you've got a Teesside accent.

Unfortunately there's very limited defence against this type of misuse. The season ticket holder could actually buy the away tickets and physically hand them to a secondary attendee. There's no way of checking that the person holding the ticket is the person who bought it unless you ask every away ground to ask for some sort of photo ID to be validated against a name printed on the ticket (infeasible, let's be honest).
Some clubs are asking fans to pick up away tickets from the away club with ID, on a sample basis, to address this issue.
A bit inconvenient, but if it works.

As fair as I can see, the curent loyalty scheme is the closest to a "perfect" solution as feasible. Folks just need to learn to assign tickets to the correct owners when purchasing the bread-and-butter games through the season to ensure each fan has the correct loyalty points come the business end.
I understand all that, but It isn’t just about assigning tickets, it is a case of trust too. Once people have access to anothers card via their account they can easily use somebody elses account and if a person changes there mind and wants to attend? I appreciate no scheme is perfect. It encourages SC holders to let others use there acc for points gain for the big end of season games and that is unfair imho.

It did do back in 2015 I think. There will be people who decide not to go, people on holiday, attending weddings etc, If this round is only just about going through people having 2+ points (theres still seems plenty readily available now in the block i looked at) then i would be reasonably confident tickets will be available to general sale eventually, were we to get there that is, just a view, but i guess time will tell.

Just off the phone, was rude as anything, nothing can be done

It's a kick in the teeth when we've both been to 7 homes games this season but I messed up unknowingly just handling the tickets myself

I've been in the same boat. Luckily I had assigned a few to my kids names but they should have been in the 33+ category like me rather than the 10+ and 2+ that they were actually in. Luckily we've all managed to get seats together but I feel for people like yourself that haven't assigned any at all but yet there is a clear record of under 18 tickets being purchased. It's not as if you've gained any extra points either. Once you get your 3 points, any further points for other people have essentially been lost.

Do you know anyone who will have been to a game at least once but isn't going to this game? All you need is their Boro reference and postcode. Add them as a friend then assign one ticket to their name and one to you. I would give you one of my family/friends numbers but they've all been used unfortunately.

I know a lad with season tickets but he's just flown on holiday on Tuesday. Not going to message over this nonsense. It's on sky and I've learnt to assign tickets for the future now either way

Is there another club in the country that puts as many obstacles in the way of people wanting to go to matches ?
