Huddersfield away

I wonder if this will reflect Rotherham or do you think that will be even worse if it is crucial?
The allocation is basically the same as Huddersfield, so anyone with 190+ should have zero issues getting a ticket.

I think anyone with 200+ will have a chance to get a Luton ticket.

Sunderland away and Huddersfield away.

There were no outraged posts for Swansea, West Brom, Cardiff, Birmingham, Blackburn, Norwich etc etc etc when the suggested 'closed shop' group of fans were able to buy their tickets first..
People did complain about WBA, that sold out at 140.

There's been 'outrage' since the system came into place, so that's a nonsense.

You could be right but If the season keeps going as it is then the Rotherham game will be like a big cup game and it will have a lot more applications at every level.

imagine if there had been no priority system
It would be a car crash if 18k fans (I even think we have more than 18k season ticket holders don't we?) were all able to scramble for a couple thousand away tickets.

Bringing in a priority scheme was a must. It's much much fairer than a free for all between all season ticket holders. However the scheme still needs tweaking.

From several posters including you - but imagine if there had been no priority system would there not have been protests for every away game from other fans?
I don't recall their being protests when the season ticket priority system was in place.

Why are away games even counted in the equation, why not have it purely based on 1. Gold Card (1st allocation), 2. Chairman’s Drink (2nd Allocation), 3. other Season Cards (3rd allocation), 4. General Sale (4th allocation)…..but that only works if the top categories are not closed shops and so many years service moves you up the ranks?
Similar to the previous red and white book system...this would've been perfect.

So tell that to a fan that has just travelled to Swansea, perhaps also recently to Cardiff.
Within the first month of this season there were difficult away games at QPR, Stoke (midweek), Reading and Watford. At a time you will recall of really high petrol prices that was a phenomenal cost and time commitment to support their club. Surely those fans deserve to gain at least a little advantage for the trips to Sunderland, Huddersfield and Rotherham.

Tell that to the season ticket holder that's paid out for the last 10 years. We'll never agree on this.
I'm speaking, almost as a neutral, i don't have a season ticket anymore as i live away. I could afford one but they're almost worthless to me. I don't get the priority of away tickets it used to give and i miss too many matches for it be economical.
The priority points system actively makes a season ticket not worthwhile buying.

But in the same breath was anyone pointing a gun at them to do so, it was their choice. How do you measure loyalty, over a couple of seasons or over a lifetime or find some middle ground, hence I say no closed shops.

There was, that's why the system was introduced. Personally as a non season ticket holder and occasional away fan I'm glad there is a system in place because while all you supporters at the top end are having your rows, my very modest points level gives me a chance at some other games before it goes to general sale, but then from other points of view I would be seen as privileged, so there is no ideal system but the points one is more fairer but not perfect.

As someone who has more than enough points for the tickets I need, I really don’t get this idea that people should or need to be rewarded for doing a hobby they love.

I don’t need patting on the back by anyone for going to QPR or Cardiff, I went to cheer the team on and have a weekend with the lads.

Why should me having a very enjoyable knees up in Cardiff push me further up the list for a game later in the season?

Great

Yep the same here but when it comes to the bigger matches how do you decide who has a go at the tickets, a free for all? I don't deserve a reward for going but I would like the club to acknowledge that there is people who when they can will try and go to matches, and when it comes to big interest matches I won't be just left to try and fight it out on the internet with other people who have never been but are hoping to go to the glamour tie on a jolly with their mates.

Wouldn’t bother me if I was fighting it out with other season ticket holders, I never missed out on a game I really wanted to go to under the old system.

I get why you need priority systems for away cup matches, semi finals, finals, etc but not for a league game with Huddersfield.

The red book / white book was fine for me, easy to understand and simple for those in cattle class to obtain.

The points and in-built advantages for certain groups is just skewing the system.

If it’s to reward those who travel away week after week why even include length of season ticket? Why not do away with points and base it on the actual number of away games attended?

But it's not just away games. It cup games like Spuds and Chelski were we sudden had all sorts of fans wanting to go.
It's also for playoffs and any finals we may or may not partake in.
