Hull forum Boro preview

Lived there for a few years. Some very strange folk, don't really think I've got any lasting connections there either. There's nobody I'd be able to call up and meet for a beer or crash at their place. Maybe the only place I've lived where that's the case.

Some fond memories and they do have an acceptable parmo there and a nice area to have a few beers.

If I was at home I'd enjoy an away day I reckon.

It's alright. They'll feel the full wrath of Teesside on the pitch tomorrow night.
Only thing I associate with Hull is a friend of mine once told me his uncle from there did some very unsavoury things to him as a child.

Never thought much of it when he told me when we were 11 but it's always stuck with me. Enough to make me hate Hull

4-0 Chuba to break the record of most home games scored in a row with a double, Archer and a Darragh Leinhan header.
Enjoy midtable mediocrity!

I work in Hull, and can testify to the strange breed of people! However, like most places, they’re not all bad. I can’t after 15 years though get my head around this following Hull City but supporting Liverpool or Arsenal guff. That is very odd. At work, they think they are going to do us tomorrow night. As long as I don’t hear that “mauled by the Tigers” cringeworthy song, I’ll be happy!

Is that a fairly standard thing then in 'ull?

Seems really weird. Maybe it's a rugby league thing that's made some odd crossover into proper football?
Yes mate, very standard. Rugby League is still the main sport, and they have a Rangers/Celtic thing going on with Hull and Hull KR. It’s an East/West thing and they dislike each other with a hatred passion.
Hull City is like a favourite toy, to play with or leave alone as the feeling takes them.
It’s quite amusing watching them wear their Liverpool shirts when the Tigers are sh1t, and they wear their Hull shirts if they have won a few games. And they say our fans are fickle….

Would love to beat them just for this comment.

Spelling and status is terrible:

"Middlesborough" = Middlesbrough
"City" = Town
"Curs" = Curse
"Teeside" = Teesside

Clearly, they still send children up chimneys rather than go to school.
They better enjoy their brief soiree` with the civilised world - because, like Spurn Point, Kilnsea and Withernsea, their City and its delightful crumbling tower - blocks will soon be under water - due to climate change. (y)
