Hull sack their manager

No Sunderland shirts is progress. :)

Premier League is thrust down kids noses - always was, but its got bigger in recent years. Kids also get pressure at school and with their mates.

Everyone on here needs to work to get kids involved in their local teams - the kids here can see players up close, at the stadium. sometimes at the training ground, at other events - opposed to a TV screen and phone screen - they can run along the players as they score etc - they can become real part of a team, not a tiny millionith.

The wife was involved in delivering an event at a school in Billingnam last week and she said nearly all the kids had Newcastle shirts on. The odd Liverpool, Man U and City, and only one Boro top.

Glass houses.
Ah, but here in East Yorkshire and Humberside it’s par for the course, they have lots of history for it - believe it or not, it’s got nothing to do with houses, glass or not.

It happens here on Teesside, and that is why I made the glass houses comment.

I would've expected them to be Sunderland shirts tbh.
That is what I asked when she mentioned and she said no one had a Sunderland top on.

Obsession with the big league teams happens all over but I would say a lot of it is determined by the age of the children.

At primary school when I was growing up in the 1980's it was largely Liverpool or Everton shirts. I would almost expect younger kids to want to follow/identify with the big winnings clubs of the day in the top league. You look around young kids football on Teesside now and it's a lot of Man City and Liverpool tops, but I think when kids are young it's easy to be drawn to the clubs getting rammed down your throat by the national media.

As kids start to get towards the top end of primary and certainly into secondary school I think most come to their senses and start following their local team.

I’m not convinced, a career win rate of 36% so far doesn’t scream top manager to me. Hull should be in the play offs and pushing the top two.

Predictable. Not in the least bit surprised at this decision. Owners must be sh1t ting themselves after spending all that money.

Yeah, on reflection, they did spend big in January and went for it.
Such a gamble though given how competitive the championship is and the owners have to take some responsibility for that.
I think he is a good young manager learning his trade which is why I thought it was a bit harsh.
The owner is probably looking at Ipswich and thinking: WTF.
How come they made it look so easy. !!!

It’s not easy and finding the right man for the job is very difficult indeed.
Good luck Mr Turkish owner 👍
