Always been a fan of a big baldy headed centre back. That shiny dome just seems to be a magnet for the ball.


Plus, the ball makes a very pleasing SLAP sound when he gets his napper on it. Something you don’t get from a more hirsute defender.

He is far more comfortable on the ball than Bambi (Fry) and Van de Berg.

I would drop Fry before him on current form, particularly because of the way Carrick wants to play from the back.

I think that’s partly just his gait, he has a cumbersome look about him. Big Ugo was the same

Their second goal started with Clarke checking back. Although there were plenty of other chances to sort we were in panic mode from that moment until they put the ball in

He’s coming back from a serious long term injury that was apparently career threatening. There’s a good chance he’s being thrust into games when he’s not 100% ready due to us having no one else to play there.

He won back to back player of the year awards at his last 2 clubs.

Let’s judge him after a dozen games now he’s fully fit.
