If Norwich lost to Leicester in the early kickoff.

realistically we're not going up this season - so though I want us to win, I'd love to see Leicester & it looks like Southampton lose via the playoffs, so a Norwich win is what I want..

We have benefitted in the past I guess though I think the parachute payments distort the league, far too much, & needs to be stopped..

That would make next season much tougher for us. Leicester and Southampton will still have parachute payments. It is possible that Leicester will get hit with a points deduction but even a 10 point deduction this season would mean they are still in the play-off places.

What is best for us is that 3 teams with parachute payments go up then Luton, Sheff Utd and Burnley come back down with minimal parachute payments. That said, Forest may be such a basket case financially that getting relegated would break them. Luton planned to come straight back down so I would prefer to face Forest next season than Luton.

Other thing is that Ipswich look like they're working on the Brighton method. A huge injection of cash means that next season they will be a real threat if they spend it well.

We have a zero chance of play offs....just being realistic and to be fair we aren't good enough anyway...

in all honesty it doesnt really matter, i fear we are more than one transfer window away from having a team that will compete.

Yake Hackney and VDB out and Im not sure we have a single player that gets a game for a top 3 team

The fact Leicester will start next season with a points deduction will benefit us. Looking on their forum there’s talk of a fire sale regardless of promotion or not. It looks like they could be in massive trouble whatever happens this year.

Yet we've shown all season we can compete v the top 6 teams, even with a huge injury list

I think that although it may only look like a small gap between us and the teams 3-6, that gap costs a lot of money to bridge. To have a realistic chance of promotion via the playoffs, you're aiming for a minimum of 80 points. We'll likely end this season on around 65 points so we're looking for a minimum of 15 extra points next season just to get to the play offs. 4 more wins and 3 more draws. That's a big step up and is something we haven't managed since we got relegated. Karanka did it in 14/15 when we went from 64 points to 85 points. That required signing Clayton, Forshaw, Tomlin, Kike, Bamford, Nsue, Vossen and others. That was a huge upgrade and it's hard to see us being able to sign that level of quality in the current climate.

If Lester fail to go up the consequences could be far reaching in terms of potential points deduction and needing to sell for financial compliance. So a far weaker outfit. Which means they'll take six points off us of course.

If we managed to half our injury list next season that would probably bridge most of that 15 point gap

Leicester have demonstrated mid table form for quite some time. I don't care if they are in the championship next season.
