If you could pause time

The Friday night before my dad died, when I went to see my parents and my dad was (as usual) fixing someone's video player and there was the stink of flux and solder. We were going to go to look at a record player they'd got in at one of the places he frequented in Redcar on the Sunday. We were laughing about a scene from a film we'd both seen in the last few days and all seemed well...

...Pause pressed.

I am not sure I would unless it was paused permanently and I didn’t age, then it would be summer 82 watching Spain World Cup.

However, if a red button labelled “2pm Friday” appeared on my desk for 30 seconds at 8am on a Monday morning I think I’d press it every week. Sad really, by there you go.

That is basically the plot of the Adam Sandler film "Click". He fast forwards through all the "mundane" parts of his life and then realises he missed all of his life.
