We'll still lose but if we put up the same fight in the remaining tests with in-country practise we should get better.
 
What a fantastic today’s play and what an innings by Pope. Disappointing to lose Foakes to such a shocking ball.

We've half a chance of winning now, though India are still favourites. If we can get a lead of 200 plus, usually the hardest innings to chase runs is the 4th.
 
I thought we’d be beaten by the end of yesterday after seeing India’s total. Old England would have crumbled.

Regardless of the end result it’s been a fantastic effort to get back into the Test.

Our main issue is the inexperience of our spinners. It’s a lot to ask of Ahmed / Hartley. We will be relying heavily on Root.

By the way. Rehan is going to be some player. He looks like he’ll be a hell of a batsman. Very assured for a 19 year old kid.

Not Out, looks like their main hope now.

It’s a shame like, so few people there you’d think their was Covid Restrictions still.
 
We may well lose this Test because of the first innings but really made them work for this and hopefully more confidence for the remaining 4 tests. I am hopefully it won’t be dead when we get out there for the fourth and fifth tests.

Hartley was a Primitive Methodist and applied his Christian principles to business. In 1888 he built a model village at Aintree (since named by the Victorian Society as a set of heritage buildings at risk of disrepair[1]). The following year he introduced a profit-sharing scheme, the results each year being announced at a special ceremony, with music and speeches. He claimed that the wages he paid to women and girls – four-fifths of the workforce – were appreciably higher than those of his competitors; he also provided free medical treatment. He personally chose his managers and trained them, sending them on advanced chemistry courses at his own expense of nearly £300,000. He preferred to donate part of any sum requested, so as to encourage others to give. He endowed a number of hospitals in Colne, Liverpool, and London, and financed departments at Liverpool and Manchester universities. Equally generous to Primitive Methodism, he supported an organization for building chapels, acted as treasurer of its missionary society, and converted the old Holborn Town Hall into its national headquarters.
