Injuries

Surely this isn’t a coincidence? Must be work or lack of work on the training ground. We know Warnock isn’t in to sport science.

I’ve always felt we seem to get more injuries when we’re not winning. The team under Woodgate was regularly decimated. Those players returned under Warnock. When Karanka had us pushing for promotion it felt like we could pick the same team every week. If players aren’t enjoying it then these little injuries seem to appear quite regularly.

So Payero wasn’t injured then ir knee as some one said as he

Martin Payero didn’t feel right yesterday and he didn’t travel.

🤔

Totally agree viv. When the team is pushing for promotion, playing well and the atmosphere is positive, those injured are genuine.

Oh bless his ickle cotton socks . I hope he feels a little better soon and I'm sure mummy will be in touch and lift him after horrid Mr Warnock was cruel to him

Injuries are a problem in an already under prepared squad but look at our card count at the moment and how many are so close to a ban.

Peltier misses the next match through suspension, **** knows who's going to play in his place.

Half the squad is injured now, it's just bizarre.

Fry should be back after international break hopefully?

How many nailed on first team starters are out?

Hernandez and Dijksteel?

Fans from all teams think they suffer more injuries and its the same with refereeing decisions. Every team gets injuries and to say we have suffered more than most is ridiculous. Its far more apparent when you have little squad depth.Your also more likely to pick players with knocks and niggles when there is little cover.
Conditions were terrible yesterday so it was almost inevitable someone would be injured. Two games a week with a small pool of players is far from ideal.

Hall Fischer Ameobi Payero
Maybe Payero? But Warnock fairly obviously does not agree with this at all.

Hall has been available at times and Warnock has played McNair and now Bamba ahead of him so I wouldn't say he is nailed on starter currently either.

Fisher is cover for Dijksteel so I don't see how you can say he's a nailed on first team starter if Dijksteel is available.

Ameobi isn't better than Tav, Hernandez or maybe even Jones now for me, but I can see Warnock preferring him as a starter maybe, as he is the magical triumvirate: tall, older & champo experienced.

All of those players would have been involved yesterday.....if only on the bench it increases the options. If Hall comes on maybe we don't concede....

Hall and Payero aren't nailed on starters - Payero has one league start for Boro. Fisher is a back up for Dijksteel and would be on the bench if everyone was fit, and Ameobi hasn't kicked a ball for us. How you can say anyone other than Dijksteel and probably Hernandez would be a nailed on starter for us is ludicrous, TBH. You might as well include Connor Malley in your list.

That isn't what I was talking about though it was about our best/expected starting XI. but obviously having more experienced good quality players on the bench is better.

If he wanted more options on the bench we maybe shouldn't have loaned out Wing, Coulson & Spence or sold Saville & Morsy and released Johnson.

Do you believe we didn't have enough professional footballers available at the club to put a full bench out yesterday, or do you think he's sending a message that he hasn't got enough players to compete?

Browne & Fisher were already injured and Ameobi was signed injured I assume, so guaranteed expected to be playing first teasers missing isn't that many to me.

The question was about nailed on starters. Dijksteel and Hernandez are the only two. Why are people so keen to make excuses for a manager who doesn't deserve to have them made on his behalf?
Hall is a nailed on starter and having options off the bench is big plus and can make a massive difference in games....that's why the sides with bigger squads are up the top if the league...

The nailed on starter was on the bench on Tuesday and would've been again yesterday. And when you say bigger squads, do you mean Coventry, QPR, Blackburn? Has everyone above us in the table got a bigger squad? A bigger budget? Have we got more injuries than those clubs? Why are we the only team getting unfavourable decisions from referees? I'm not having a go by the way, just interested to read some views on why we are where we are at the moment.

Sometimes you just get unlucky with injuries, otherwise Warnocks squads would always have a load of injuries. Feels like we’re creating stuff in our minds to have a go at Warnock
