Interested to hear opinions on this

Refreshing to hear the business community criticising the media for lies and propaganda.

If their pockets weren't being hit you wouldn't hear a dickie bird.

I'd be interested to hear Nick Hudson's thoughts on what I managed to find after typing his name and the banks he works for alongside the word 'scandal' into Google.

Cba to watch the article, but here's my opinion on lockdowns (after 9 months of running a school with 100 adults and 600 children in the building 5 days a week during the pandemic):

Lockdown is NOT necessary IF EVERYONE follows the rules....masking, social distancing and good hand hygiene. Unless you are spending hours and hours together in a small room, this will keep transmission to a very low level (we have had community cases, but not one single person has caught the virus at school). Here in Chicago we've had shops open for 10 months now, bars and restaurants for 3 months, museums and zoos for a month (all with reduced capacity and strict rules) and sports are about to begin with limited attendances. The positivity rate continues to drop as people in the city follow the rules.

Unfortunately not everyone follows these rules, so lockdown is the only viable option left (the other is to do a "Brazil" and just let the virus run riot). Curiously, in the main it's those who selfishly won't follow the sensible advice and complain the loudest about lockdown that have actually caused these lockdowns. If everyone followed HANDS, FACE, SPACE we wouldn't need lockdowns.

Australia have virtually stopped people entering the country which has kept infections extremely low and death very low. I am sure if they had allowed people in and out as normal, thousands of Australian particularly elderly ones would be dead now. I's like to see his graph for Australia.

Lock downs to me hold the virus spread for later , not eradicate it, without the use of vaccines. I don't except big Pharma love lock downs, some pharma companies have lost serious money due to lock downs from cancelled treatments. Astra Zeneca have sold their vaccine at cost. If anything its big Tech that has made money, companies like Zoom. What evidence is there of Zoom specifically encouraging lock downs by Governments?

I agree the media have over spread fear, because it sells news stories and clicks. Its also easy to create fear at present.

Our Governernment has imposed lock downs but let people travel in and out at will, which reduced the impact of the lock down and that is not in his stats.

He didn't mention test and trace, he just glibly said isolate the affected, but that has proved very difficult in the UK, compared with say China. His stats don't how good countries are at test and trace and imposition of lock down. Africa was very good at test and trace and had a culture of dealing with infectious diseases which has helped reduce fatality, Britain does not.

I do agree there is a much higher level of natural immunity and no impact on people than is reported. We all are told it could kill us, when in fact it probably quite a small percentage who could die from it. For example do we lock down to protect say 750,000 people in the UK who are at risk of death from Covid, 126,000 of which have already died. Myself I think so many people have been vaccinated now in the UK , the risks of dying are extremly small (probably something like 1 in 50,000), that more restrictions could be lifted, with the exception of travel into the UK. I just don't beleive you can get the same variant twice and its believed 20m had have the virus in this country so that an awful lot of people with some form of antibodies on top of the 31m vaccinated.
