Isaac Wilson's for sale £650k

Is that all, i might buy that - probably got about that much down the back of the settee

It's also in a dreadful location as a town centre pub., when you think about it.

Spent many years in the old Isaacs when it was a Wetherspoons, before I knew better.
Was thinking, there's plenty of better alternative buildings / locations standing empty in the town centre. (y)

If I was still running the council I'd pay minimum £1miliion.

Alright Andy, hows the mansion in North Yorkshire this morning ?

Got any "do you remember rola cola" posts ready to go today, or are you focusing on trying to distill complex political issues into a yes or no Twitter poll?

Who is going to buy it, and what would they do with it? I don't think I would take it if it was given to me for free.

It's all set up to be a pub, but the days of pubs seem numbered, never mind pubs that large and where they're located. If Wetherspoons can't make it work there, then it will be hard for anyone else. Hard for anyone to sell booze as cheap as Wetherspoons because of their purchasing power, so if it were to be a pub then it would need to charge normal prices and it would not attract those crowds, to that location. No parking heavily restricts it's market too.

Not sure if it could be anything else, other than a shop, but there are far better available locations for shops, already set up to be shops, but large shops in degrading tows struggle massively. Maybe flats for people who don't have cars, but would probably cost another £1m to turn it into flats and be a construction nightmare. Wouldn't want to live on the ground floor, but a 1st floor flat could be decent, but in a grim area.

Even a 1st floor flat would be directly level with the A66 and so I imagine quite. a bit of noise.

As you say, it'd difficult to work out what it could be, which is a shame as it's a great building.
