scandal fatigue as previously one scandal was enough to bring down a govt even a whiff of the scandal was enough.

but now they just roll into each other and are almost forgotten the following week.

Its not "conspiracy guff" to wonder why its taken over a year for this story to come out. I've not speculated any reasons so I'm not feeding into or relaying an conspiracy theories.

Given how much they lie, obfuscate and hide from scrutiny in anyway possible I find it really strange that it has taken so long to come out.

My point is we need to start hammering them on what we know as FACT and not look for issues that we may never find.

bad news day is a press phenomenon but during this pandemic the normal rules are really there as every day is a bad news day.

It's not conspiracy theory. If the party have decided that Johnson's days are over and they need a new leader bounce, it will happen.

I'm not surprised in the slightest it's took this long.

The people who attended these parties will have known full well of the consequences of these parties becoming public.

Organised via WhatsApp, no mobiles at the party etc...probably more. It could well be career ending for everyone involved.

That's what struck me. She's employed as the Prime Minister's spokesperson, presumably for her ability to communicate with the press in the best, least damaging way. She could hardly have handled it worse!
 
Her attitude is exactly the same as the rest of the Tories.....they think they are untouchable and like others have mentioned this will be forgotten when Alexander comes out and eases the wearing of masks and declares that he has delivered Xmas, just like he delivered Brexit.

It’ll be forgotten about this time next week. Johnson will ride this out.

I must be alone, as wrong as it is I simply can’t get angry about this, there’s enough other sh1t going on in life.
 
I think the tories will issue a statement tomorrow along the lines of, staff were just fooling around with a bit of eton bantz. When that doesn't satisfy the public, johnson will go. It's a terrible time for the tories to be dumping johnson, so he may survice a bit. You don't want a new PM going into winter, in case our cases and deaths take off again. For that reason the tories may try and face it out for a few months until spring.

By March or April, at the latest, Johnson is gone.
