I know strikers are rightly our no. 1 priority but I wonder if this link is dead yet, with him not currently signing a new contract. I know he's theoretically got two years left (with Hull having the option of triggering an extra year), and therefore in a fairly strong bargaining position. I wonder what price they will accept if they think he won't sign another contract. I think 2M would be a good buy for us, but he might have other options and Hull may not ultimately wish to sell. Could be offset with maybe selling Fry. Be interesting to see how this plays out. Probably nothing will happen in the end!

I read that Hull are looking for £5-7m. If true then I'd say that's a great price when you take his age into consideration.
 
But agree with the OP, he’s a player we clearly like and would be great if we can get him in and solve a problem position for us.
 
If we messed about too much on signing harry McGuire I’d hope we learned our lesson .
If he’s good enough I hope we manage a deal , itl only end up costing us more next summer

I thought Fry would definitely play in the premier league (albeit for a bottom half club) when he broke through and was a regular under Pulis. However I'm not sure how much he has progressed and would maybe take a chance by selling him if we got a decent fee. All if's and maybe's, but we have cover in his position now.
 
I saw 7m is their asking price, we won't go to that, but we might go 4.5 with a promotion bonus.

His stats coming out from the back are some of the best for a CB in the champo, for a left footer, they ARE the best in that league for passes into box, offensive duels, etc.
 
Never heard of him so don't really know if 2m is a lot, of 5m is a steal.

He fits the bill CW wants, he's the only defender I've really seen us linked to and a Hull fan i know said they're giving it a good go this season, spent a few quid and confidence is high and they're building it around this lad been at the heart of their defence so I can't see us having any joy with bids for him.

That been said, we need a left sided centre back so if this is the fella, let's get him asap.
 
I simply can't see us spending 7mil on a CB. The whole champo landscape has changed. You don't see anyone spending that.

Then again we could potentially have Spence and Tav money so what do I know 😂

I don't know much about him. I guess he's young and highly rated. I'm presuming left footed? They seem to be like rocking horse poo these days.

He's progresed massively, if people can't see that they are blind. He lacks leadership which is no surprise being a young lad from Middlesbrough.
I've got a question. If man City offered John Stones in a straight swap, would you accept?

They’ve already had Akpom, they find it hilarious he’s still playing at a decent standard. When we signed him I started up a ‘CHUBAWATCH’ update with one of my Hull supporting mates and very rarely had anything to report other than ‘Chuba on… game ends’
