Jason Mandford having a go at visitors to the Manchester Opera House and rightly so. Why do people do this? Surely it's got to be better for everyone if we pick up our rubbish and put it in a bin.

I used to see in the school and students would just leave their rubbish for others to pick it up. Many, when challenged on it would reply "That's what they get paid for." No, they don't, clean up after yourself.

A common retort is “job creation”. Which may actually be valid, at least in places like McDonald’s that make a bazillion dollar turnover.
 
Any big event with more than a few hundred people is an excuse to throw rubbish on the floor, throw crap on the floor because it's not traceable. The worst I've seen in a public place was Pride in Brighton, the whole town stinks of pish and ahit and there's rubbish everywhere. I love Pride, what it stands for but the people that attend and the people that organise need to do better

Well even if you do that, my mate starts tucking it all in like he’s got a lass coming round.

I don’t do anything. I get out of bed and then don’t touch the duvet again until I leave. And I really don’t think that’s causing any harm!

I do have a mate who makes his bed in a hotel on THE DAY HE’S LEAVING though. Which is just mental, isn’t it?

I would guess they want it left however makes it easiest for them to crack on with stripping it and putting it in their laundry bin. They don’t want to be messing on pulling sheets out of corners etc. Given they will often have about 200 beds to do, I bet they genuinely couldn’t give a phuck as long as there are no mysterious stains on the bed.

It’s common courtesy to leave it “made” at someone’s house, because they’re not getting paid to deal with it.
 
I’m quite OCD about leaving hotel rooms clean. I don’t know exactly why, but I’d hate someone else tidying up after me.
Its almost invasive to me… maybe I’m mental…

Ha. Well horses for courses, but I really don’t think the cleaners care how straight you leave the duvet as long as it’s clean, so you’re surely wasting your time.

I put all the rubbish in the bin etc and leave it in a way that gives the cleaners less to do.

You guys are probably locking the safe before you leave!

I definitely am. Other than it makes me feel better.
That extra three minutes, spent checking everything is tidy enough, feels right to me.
Mental? Maybe 🤣
