Jessie Lingard - Bit of a Tinker

It winds me up just watching it. Then again it would if it was my mate or some z list love Island 'celeb'.

It probably says more about me 😂

I guess all it does is give people ammunition to give him grief. It's pretty safe to say he's not bothered. So fairplay.... Crack on.
 
I like Lingard, always have and it's this sort of nonsense that makes me like him.

Give me Lingard having a laugh and playing with a smile on his face over CR7's snarling narcissism any day.

Not at all. I know that these videos make no difference to his footballing ability.

They do however scream "LOOK AT ME", and he's already on 5-10x higher wages than all of his teammates.... After he's making these "LOOK AT ME" videos, in my opinion.... he needs to back it up.
 
He got 9 goals in 16 games for West Ham the season before, reckon he will do alright for forest. He's 29, hardly ancient. Probably not good enough to be pushing at Man Utd but doesn't mean he's not worth 10m to a newly promoted team.

My comments are not from this one video, they're from all of them... and it's not hate, it's nothing personal... I just think it's the sort of thing you do AFTER you've succeeded...

If we signed Adam Armstrong tomorrow and he was hyping himself up like this, advertising his own clothing label, etc... He then NEEDs to perform for us, or he makes himself and the club look a bit stupid.

Does this approach apply to other areas of internet tomfoolery's? Do I need to justify my career choices and work output before I post on here for example?

Jealousy. Us older folks aren't as flexible as we once were. Which reminds me I'm due my cod liver oil supplement and a sit down to peruse the deaths section in the Gazette (oh b***r, I've put me back out bendin' for paper).

To be serious, at the end of the day it's harmless fun presumably aimed at raising a smile, I'd far rather social media be used for that than to share hate filled bile.

It's not just internet tomfoolery though is it, he's cleverly advertising "his brand" - There was another post shared about having JLINGZ on the back of his shirt (his own clothing brand).

It's just my opinion, so you may all disagree, but he's taking 200k/week out of the club, and advertising himself before he's even started his first game.
 
I didn't realise JLINGZ was a clothing brand. I saw the pic and just thought it's what he calls himself... Again thinking 'helmet' 😂

Where do I get this clobber? I'm guessing its not for a mid 40s bloke with love handles and moobs lol?

What is the criteria for success you'd apply before he can do this ?

Make it as a professional footballer
Earn 200k per week
Get an England cap
Win the community shield
Win the league cup
Win the FA cup
Win the Europa League

He's done all them all ready, so perhaps he's free to do a daft dance on social media ?

JLINGZ is his clothing brand, he also has "JLINGZ eSports" amongst other things...
I don't particularly like Roy Keane as a pundit but I agree with the particular rant he had about Lingard when he was at United... he's on 200k/week, why does he need to promote other things?

It's not just a daft goal celebration type video on social media in my opinion, it's clever marketing/self promotion.

Because lingard has his head screwed on and realises there is life after football so is capitalising on his brand while he is relevant. What's it got to do with Roy Keane? Are we meant to believe while he was earning £17m over his last 5 years at United he didn't have endorsement deals or do any promo work? He's earned millions why does he have to be a pundit?
