Joe Ironside.

From the BBC website 🤔

Joe Ironside, a striker who grew up idolising Magpies legend Alan Shearer, scored the winner, turning in from close range 11 minutes into the second half to prompt chaotic scenes amid the 5,000 travelling supporters.

Never heard before that his son was a footballer but good on the lad, mind the goal itself, about 5 seconds of disaster after disaster of bad defending

He was. I remember him hurtling out if goal to head clear, way outside his box. Nearly collided with (I think) Nicky Mohan. Happy memories!

I listened on the radio. With only minutes remaining I remember Ali Brownlee commenting on Ironside wasting some time and looking at his watch ................. "you're tapping it, you're knocking it but still time ticks on its own sweet way".

Shocking display by the ref, that day. Sent off Mohan and failed to send off their centre back for a professional foul.I thought the Boro fans were going to riot ,until we got the winner.

Good on the lad, proud of him. Must have been a cracking moment he will never forget. I did not know anything about him until today. Give us Boro fans a laugh as well ... Jawdees are Sh111te

That was the game that screwed me today too, though ... had Ironside not scored and the Toon actually knew where the goal was, I would be a few hundred quid better off tonight :ROFLMAO: 🤡
