Joey Barton

Wait. This is news to me.

Joey Barton needs crowdfunding to get a lawyer because he clearly said something absolutely stupid, insulting and unnecessary?

The same Joey Barton who played premiership football for years and presumably is a multi millionaire?
That Joey Barton needs people to fund getting legal advice?

And - with all the poverty, hunger, preventable diseases and injustice in the world, and all the genuinely good causes that desperately need money, some people are actually giving him money?

"Uniting Behind Joey Barton against Jeremy Vine

In the ever-expanding arena of social media, where reputations are made and shattered in the blink of an eye, one man finds himself in the eye of the storm: Joey Barton, the former footballer whose journey has taken a dramatic turn. Caught in a whirlwind of defamation allegations stemming from allegedly derogatory tweets, Barton stands at the forefront of a battle for justice and fairness against none other than Jeremy Vine, a prominent figure in the media landscape.

Known for his skill and tenacity on the football pitch, Barton's latest challenge transcends the boundaries of sport. It's a clash of principles, a fight against baseless accusations that threaten to tarnish not just his reputation, but the very fabric of integrity in our digital age.

The recent debacle, sparked by Jeremy Vine's televised remarks insinuating Barton's alleged 'brain injury', serves as a stark reminder of the power wielded by media personalities and the responsibility that comes with it. Yet, amidst the storm of controversy, Barton stands firm, determined to seek justice and restore his honor.

What an incredible coincidence that the organiser of this campaign is also called Joey Barton.

Grifters gonna grift

I don't think he's finished a book in his life. A responsible adult will have taken the crayons from him.
He’d eat them.

Or try and stab a youth team player in the eye with them.

Barton got such a pass for years for being a different character - the Guardian of all places sainted him for a bit as a misunderstood, punk rock intellectual - but I tell you what, his true colours are really shining through now.

Certainly the so called requirements for a female commentator versus a male commentator seem to be different from the standpoint of the total skills package. Maybe I’m just used to old school commentators (mostly male) but even the new generation of male commentators are articulate, funny and mostly of you can hear them clearly from an accent standpoint.

Ok there’s some like Andy Townsend who have a noticeable accent but Townsend is very articulate and he understands player attributes and can offer a technical opinion which makes sense.

So far most of the women commentators that I’ve heard lack these type of qualities. It’s almost like they’re just given the mic and tell them to get on with it.

The one female commentator I have liked from the US is Julie Foudy who was really articulate and definitely could hold her own against any male commentator. In the end it’s all about what you get used to and perhaps the one who can keep you interested.

However some of the things Barton said were really wrong and disrespectful, but then again the truth sometimes hurts.
