Johnson's BYOB Party Invitation 🤣

why? it's clearly the 'pile the bodies high' comment pictorally, as political commentary it's spot on
Also insensitive for board members who have lost loved ones. If you think it is OK, craic on, but ask yourself how you would feel if a close member of your family had passed away to Covid and you click on a message board and see that.

I suppose it is worth for a cheap dig at our leader.

It doesn't really matter who the tories replace Johnson with. They are going to have to deal with a failing economy. The first step in dealing with that is identifying the problems. This would require commissioning a report on the problems that need to be fixed. The report would highlight the main problem, leaving the single market and customs union.

For this reason the tories can't formulate an economic plan. If they can't do that their core support will dwindle, regardless of who is in no 10.

That's the sole reason Johnson is still the pm. The entire tory party don't know how to get out of the problems they have created. They have no solution that doesn't diminish the get brexit done rhetoric.

Johnson isn't going to resign and the rest of the party don't see a way forward.

The whole party are toast unless they can face up to the disaster a hard brexit is and start addressing that. I suspect the erg wouldn't sanction a return to closer ties with Europe.

It isn't a cheap dig, it's holding to account for his decisions and callous attitude to human life.

I totally get that some people have lost family members, and I'm sorry that this government created a situation where they accepted that as the norm. But we cannot brush his words and decisions under the carpet for fear of upsetting some people. Their anger should be directed at him for saying that, and for the decisions he made, not at someone who is clearly angry enough at Johnson to post that image.

They're a pox on this country.

I really hope that we get another go at the EU. As it turns out, it's not that bad, is it?

One thing that longstanding members of this board will find entertaining is that this place was, from 2010-2016, awash with people saying

"UKIP đź‘Ť" and decrying the "LibLabCon" plutocracy.

Now that Tories have turned into UKIP and their populist dreams have come true, were left with a corrupt laughing stock as PM, a cost of living crisis and a paralysed political class terrified of upsetting an emboldened, feral press.

It isn't holding him to account though, it is crass and lacks a moral attitude. I find it sad that you can try and defend it.

But so would Donic Cummins wouldn't he?

Yes, certainly. But I don't think he's leaked anything secret. He just said check an email that was sent on X date. The journos did the rest.

Cummings has a profile and platform. An anonymous office worker doesn't. And the P will be scared to go after Cummings as I'm sure he has plenty in the locker to keep him safe.

A close member of my family passed away the month before this party and I find the image accurate and not insensitive.

I would be even more outraged with the PM and his cronies than that cartoon

Those that put him in number 10 must shoulder some of the blame.
He was and is a habitual liar with no moral compass , sacked many times for lying, who latched on to brexit to further his ambitions despite been a ardent remainer, the warning signs were all there

I really struggle with the idea that people actually thought that he was a suitable person to be PM. I know Brexit swayed the majority but even then I also struggle as to why people thought he could 'get Brexit done'.

Swathes of the public really did have the blinkers on. It's quite shameful and telling how backwards we are as a country. Well how backwards England is.

I'm sorry you feel that way, the moral failure as far as I see is Johnson's, we shouldn't pretend he didn't say it

I am outraged that every time he opens his mouth another lie pops out and that so many of us believed him but why the need to show a cartoon picture of bodies in the No10 garden.

Hewie - Each to their own.

Agree about Hunt. Compared to Johnson he'd be positively statesman-like whereas he was pretty much a joke under Cameron. That's how far we've fallen.

Hunt looks and acts like people expect "traditional" politicians to act. If he won the leadership that might be enough to convince people he's different enough from the Johnson circus and they can vote Tory again.

As a "ruddy remoaner" though he's probably up against it with the party membership for the time being. Hopefully.
Correct, the only reason liz truss is being considered is because the Tory party is now a watered down version of the Brexit party and anyone who bashes the EU gets a chance to run a very right wing extreme party….
Hunt doesn’t stand a chance because of this…

The Matthew Parris piece in the Times on Friday is total dissection of the reality of what Johnson is and the scars, he literally leaves on those that he “collects” and then discards.
If you can get the through the paywall.
It was up on Twitter for a short time Friday morning.
