Josh Coburn

And more recently, how many have gone out on loan and how many have come back?
Hopefully some of the current crop of loanees will come back stronger, wiser and ready for the senior squad. But it doesn't seem to work like that these days.

Tavernier, Jones, Fry and Bola have all went out on loan and eventually became first team regulars after they've came back.

I was glad he was given a go, but much like Millwall at home last season, when he is up against big strong centre halves he looks a mile off. Thought he looked to off beefed up a bit over summer but sadly doesn't appear to have made a big difference.
The big strong CH that WBA had yesterday showed how far off all 4 of our current options are. The one we needed on at that time was training with the juniors.

Lets hope the gap left by Tav and the issues up front are concluded quickly, then Josh can go out on loan, we can jettison Big Ouchie and Ackpom, and map out the plan for automatic promotion.(y)

When it doesn't work out it's usually because they were never going to be good enough anyway. I don't think they necessarily have to come back from a loan spell and go straight into the senior squad for it have been beneficial. But the experience of getting minutes in proper men's first team football, out of their comfort zone, is really valuable.

As teacider points out the youngsters who have most recently broken through properly to establish themselves as regular starters in the first team: Gibson, Fry, Tav, Jones all spent time out on loan at some point.

At present there is no way I would send him out on loan - he might be raw, but it looks more like scoring to me than our other current forwards.
