Josh

They won’t.
It’s about opinions, of course, but I love the way he can receive the ball, hold off the first defender, and get out of the cul-de-sac when one or two others try to rob him. That’s top top class.
add to that, the fact he knows that, when a defender grabs him, when he’s trying to run onto a channel ball, he turns it into an arm-wrestle and pins the defender the wrong side of the ball…top class.
He very rarely loses or wastes possession.

He’ll do for me

It's that Richmond sausage and all that fresh meat wot done it (y)
Looks like he's been fed on raw steak, compared to when he scored against Spurs.

He needs to add more goals to his game to get Premier League interest but they will all be watching his progress. He's a proper throwback striker who even at 21 is using his body like an experienced pro. If he can stay fit and keep progressing like he is, he's going to be some player for us or someone better. I'd have him studying players like Giroud and Drogba to see how he should be developing his game.

I watched all of the BM gave yesterday with Moore playing 80 odd mins and he was not even remotely in the game. Yet he scored from a corner . Josh was brill yesterday, hold up laying it off and only really had one sniff....... Take Josh over Moore any day tho

He’s the best striker I’ve seen come through our academy, by a distance.

If Carrick keeps the same formation for the Chelsea game I can see Josh upfront with crooks and lathe either side.

He'll have to work on his positioning and anticipation to improve his goal scoring record. He's a big, strong lad who lacks outright pace so it's those two qualities I mentioned above that will get him on the end of more chances. They'll come with experience hopefully.

He is definitely doesn't have great acceleration but he is quick enough when in full flow. Numerous times yesterday he ran in behind Lenglet and Konsa over 20-30 yards. Giving them a yard or two on occasions. As said, more work on movement into channels and between centre halves and he will be golden. He is definitely a powerful runner with enough to get in behind.

This will come, his game has developed so much and we have to remember not to long ago Josh and Hackney where out on loan in the lower divisions yet now when they aren't available you feel there presence is missed, josh isn't getting many clear cut chances so I feel we can only judge him when he is but I agree his movement in the box needs to be better to give himself space.
His overall game really helps the team move up the pitch and he is a real handful, lath just makes me smile as I never know what to expect from him!

Not many championship strikers get snapped up by PL teams. It's a huge step up. Akpom scored 29 goals last season and nobody came in for him. He had the benefit of already having a decent reputation from coming through at Arsenal as well.

Nobody will be taking a chance on a player with so few goals. Hopefully he starts banging them in for us more regularly and that might change things.

I'm happy with him starting for us. He's a good player but there's a big difference between us and the PL. PL teams are looking for pace as well as strength and he didn't really have that so he's got to really excel at all the other things to stand out.

We need to give him a bit of a helping hand. Too many times yesterday he was left isolated on his own allowing up to three Villa players to crowd him out. Support needs to get to him quicker while he is still able to hold the ball up. I'm another who would like to see Lath played off him. Thought that might have happened when Lath came on yesterday but Carrick stuck to his plan.
