Just stop oil at the rugby today

Government haven’t achieved anything with me. Realistically what do you think is the outcome during a COL crisis when people are loosing hours at work due to protestors blocking the roads. You don’t need the government to tell you that’s going to be devastating for some people. If you can’t see that and accept it’s a problem then you are seriously out of touch with the issues working class people face

Plenty of threads on here outraged at the poor conditions those at the bottom currently face in the uk, yet the same people are cheering on protests that actively make things worse for those at the bottom

Also not sure how you have interpreted me saying protests shouldn’t stop ordinary people getting to work, make me anti refugee. That’s such a bizarre take
I think you've fallen for the over exaggerated reports and propaganda in the right wing press, which is pretty much the norm for this country.

People may have been an hour late for work but they'll have had chance to make it up, don't worry about that. Without hours on their timesheet their company wouldn't have been paid.

I think the more recent Just Stop Oil protests are moving in the right direction. Closing roads, bridges, and stations caused significant disruption to the lives of ordinary people for little gain for their cause. Shifting to disrupting televised sporting events gains high-profile publicity at a minor cost to the public.

You have got me wrong. I would have said the same thing if it had been at any other sporting event. A minor disruption isn't making anyone 'suffer'.
I hope so, and apologies if so, it's just some comments on this thread defo whiff of the old, tired reverse snobbery. No one "suffered" at the rugby, but I guarantee they lost support after that stunt, especially as it followed on from then destroying a garden

Is it? Or are you just making things up? You already lied about it being a "Tory event"
I didn't claim it was a Tory event, but it is without a doubt an event where a vast majority are Tories or Tory voters. And yes, I've been to Twickenham on numerous occasions, so don't let your imagination run wild about me not knowing about it.

The vast majority are Tory or Tory voters?

So, an event in the safest Liberal Democrats seat in the country, where two thirds of the crowd were supporting a team from that Tory hotbed of (check notes) Manchester!

Honestly. Please don't lot reverse snobbery and ignorance of the event you are discussing derail the conversation. You need to be a bit better than that please.

What has the venue's constituency voting habits got to do with it?

I couldn't imagine the 1922 Committee selecting their chairman from a socialist constituency.

I don't know, you're the one making things up about Tory events. I notice you can't answer the fact most people were supporting a team from Manchester. I would put a wager there aren't a huge amoint of Tory voters there.

Hoenstly, you need to be better than this. I know some of you need to hate "posh" sports and make up lies to fuel that hate. But it's pretty ignorant to do so. Remove the chip, treat people properly and we can have a conversation. If you must insult and blindly stereotype then it just cheapens the chat. Shame reallu

You should have just stopped after your first three words. And stop the lying, I didn't claim it was a Tory event, but it will have had a vast majority of Tory members and Tory voting spectators. It's not reverse snobbery, it's a statement of fact. And by hitting them with demonstrations their popularity will increase. Not amongst you Tory voters maybe.

It isn't a statrment of fact though is it? Is it. It's a statement of prejeducr based on your incorrect understanding of what you consider to be a posh sport. That's all it is

Here's two actual facts, one of which I notice you are already ignoring becasue it doesn't fit with your prejudiced world view:

1 The majority of the crowd were supporting a team from Manchester
2. Manchester is a predominantly labour area.

From that we can extroplate that your prejudiced assumption about the majority of the crowd being Tory voters is incorrect.

It's interesting that even when proven worng you continie to argue this. I hope in wrong but it feels like you don't care about the environment. You're only happy becasue what you (incotrecly as have established) assume is an event full of Tory voters has been disrupted. Even if you were correct about that, it would be sad, and show a pettiness on your side, that's that is what excites you, and not the very rral and serious environmental issues raised.

The fact you are wrong about the crowd too, that on you. You need to be better. Just educate yourself a bit and don't speak from a position of ignorance. Be better

Posh, who mentioned posh?

Proven wrong, by who, an ignorant remark about Sale's voting habits isn't proof, just a confirmation of your cluelessness.

The crowd at Twickenham is predominantly one of Tory voters. Perhaps you didn't notice, maybe you knock about with a few Lib Dems, even the occasional sneaky Labour voter.

As for ignorance, look no further than that mirror.

Working on the same assumptions that you're using, the irony is that the very comfortably off middle class pricks who made the demonstration will equally be Tory voters

How green is the Chelsea Flower show?
How do the competitors get all the flowers to bloom at exactly the right time?
How do the exhibits get to the site and what happens to them afterwards?
Actually, after a bit of googling I found this report from 2012 which depicts the event as anything but green. In fact, unless extensive changes have been made over the last 11 years, it's anything but green so perhaps the CFS is a legitimate target.
