Just watching NBA on bbc3 …

When I first went to the States, the company I worked for had a sky box at MSG. I took my son to a game; fortunately it was an open bar.

Basketball is outstanding entertainment, fortunate enough to have done a couple of NBA games in the states. It’s all about the show

American sports are more evenly contested unlike football which is so predictive at the top level. I much prefer watching US sports over football now. I hate what football has become at the top level. At least in the championship we don’t have VAR and we just don’t know what we are going to get with the Boro. One week lose to the team at the bottom and then the next beat the team at the top.

Run to one end, score. Run to other end, score. Run to one end, score. Run to other end, score. Run to one end, score. Run to other end, score...........
It's dreadful.

Being a night owl, I watch a lot of live basketball. I've grown to love it, it's a lot more tactical than it seems at first glance. Went to see Magic v. Celtics as my first live game (Celtics are my team) and it was well worth the money!

NBA games are good fun, but the entire spectacle is definitely way too long. There are too many time-outs and the breaks are interminable. Every week we watch footballers who have to play for 45+ minutes with only shouted instructions from the sidelines, whereas most American sportsmen/women can't seem to manage more than 3 mins at a time without an extended coaching break.

Checkout Larry Bird, what a player for the Celtics.
