Can't play Havertz and Odegaard behind a front three though, surely, that means playing a holding midfielder and really restricting Saka and Martinelli? My thoughts exactly - but Arteta has obviously thought this through ha!
You get the impression there will be an overhaul in midfield for Arsenal, Xhaka, Partey all out, so perhaps there will be a new role for Havertz, deeper than we have seen, sitting in with Odegaard, ....Rice holding it together behind - perhaps.
I can see him ending up more as a sub for Jesus to be honest, but Arteta clearly knows what he's doing so he must have some sort of plan.
I can see him playing in a front two, supporting Jesus, but don't get how that would be a gain, as it means restricting Saka and Martinelli again.
Can't see how Havertz would become a priority over their front three, as they're all better to me, and Havertz is the only one who is a bit restricted the the centre.
It's got to be rotation, surely, if Jesus gets injured Havertz goes up top, if Martinelli or Saka get injured then maybe Jesus goes wide with Havertz up top, or they change to a front two.
They could go three at the back mind, but seems risky accommodating so many attacking players, when they're already not short of goals, and Havertz doesn't get many goals.
