As head of recruitment he will stand or fall on the strength of his signings.

His plans will take a while to bear fruit, we are not going to start signing unknowns for peanuts and all of a sudden sell them for 50m.

For every Rhiad Mahrez there are 50 Dong gook Lee's out there.

I just hope that our 2 incoming foreign strikers are given time and not condemned after the first easy chance heads into the Tees.

Simple fact is we can't afford the finished article and these are the types of signings we are now looking at .

We are not far away from a team that can challenge at the top end of the division, so let's banish the negativity and get behind the team in what promises to be a very exciting season.

Kieran Scott is also responsible for finding new buying clubs or loaning out Boro players. So he will have been very busy on that side of the operation this week. I wonder, as he is one step removed whether player recruitment and exits are more of a numbers game, over all strategy rather than necessarily the personal etc.
