Ken Loach expelled from the Labour Party

Quite a lot of tosh on this thread.

Corbyn and his advisors were absolutely incompetent on tackling anti-semitism. This is the current leadership taking a very prominent stand to show the wider public that the Party is not tolerant of it.

I still don't see any justification whatsoever for Loach's expulsion. And radio silence from the party itself.

Labour has proscribed the groups Socialist Appeal, Labour in Exile Network, Labour Against the Witchhunt and Resist. Party members affiliated with the groups had the option to rescind membership/support of the groups & if they didn't they were expelled.

Loach is a prominent supporter of Labour Against the Witchhunt, which along with Resist, have claimed the anti-Semitism allegations against Corbyn and the Labour Party were unsubstantiated and politically motivated. Labour in Exile was set up for members that are suspended or expelled, and Socialist Appeal are Marxists.

So it would appear that Loach has decided not to rescind his support of LAtW and has therefore been expelled.

That seems likely perhaps but I would like to hear from the party on why.

They were unsubstantiated and politically motivated. Criticism of Israeli military action is not anti-Semitism. I can't believe I've had to explain that. We truly are in the vicinity of ThoughtCrime.

The entire handling of the antisemitism issue, just as their handling of the Russia poisoning, the #metoo/bullying allegations and Brexit by Corbyn and his inner circle was utterly incompetent.

Since when did expelling Jews - some of whom were in the party before Starmer was born - been a sign the Labour Party is "tackling" anti-semitism?!!!!!!

It hides the real anti-semites and fuels prejudice and violence - not just against Jews, but against other ethnic groups, races, religions and people. It grades racism - placing people of colour down the pile - like they were less important.

Its a co-ordinated strategy to rid the party of socialists and to gag opposition to the authoritarian quasi-Stalinist leadership.

Its an ideological attack - not a personal one: it could be a rat on a stick - but its an ideological attack nonetheless.

Just when the Tory Government is leading an authoritarian, racist, nationalistic charge and mounting overt attacks on the most vulnerable in our society: - the Labour "leadership" adopts the same ideological thrust, when it has a duty to fight for ordinary people.

Its no coincidence that the media, the Labour staffers, the "Labour" (?!!) right wing apparatchiks and fellow travellers climbed on board the attack on Corbyn from day one. They couldnt tolerate a Socialist leading the Labour Party. The ideological cleansing is continuing, but the attacks are already a rallying call for reorganisation and replenishment. The oppressed never give up - ask the Palestinians - no matter how much the oppressor tries to bludgeon opposition.

For every action there is a reaction - every attack makes the opposition stronger, more prepared, better armed and more determined. Ignore the lessons of history at your peril. (y)

Absolute drivel. It was Iain McNicol and his gang who were letting the cases mount up as they trawled social media sites for some flimsy evidence to purge Corbyn supporters as well you know. One woman was kicked out for liking Foo Fighters ffs. The enquiry even said that the process only speeded up after Corbyn intervened. You defend Starmer to the end of the earth for these expulsions but you still haven't explained why Rachel Reeves is still in the party after her Twitter love-in with famous fascist and Hitler admirer Lady Astor.

The far left, like the far right, will never win an election.

This left despised Blair because he won, and love Corbyn because he lost. Blair did more for the working class in a week than Corbyn did in his disloyal lifetime.

If you are a left wing Jew in Starmers Labour party you have no voice and you are not welcome in the party, which speaks volumes for his pledge to unify the party and carry on with Corbyn's policies.
 
The Labour party are becoming more unelectable every month.
The country do not want a socialist government. This has been proved over and over again when they go to the country with a socialist message, Foot , Kinnock and Corbyn. They do want change hence why Blairs slightly centre left message was so happily recieved.
Corbyn had huge support amongst activists and the young politically aware but it's not enough.
If the shambles of a government we currently have are still ahead in the polls after everything they have done then the socialist message will never garner enough support to govern .
