Kerching!!!

BBC Nottingham - commentating after the match just now - "how is this guy playing in the Championship"? "why did he hardly get a regular game at Middlesbrough"?

No chance. Would be a stupid thing to do.
They`l be a few more Managers keeping an eye on him now.
Glad Warnock didnt like him: the old man unintentionally has done Boro a favour. (y)
Glad for the lad as well - hes doing what hes good at and loves it at Trees.

No room for sentiment. If we are going to sell him we must get the best price for him. If a Premier league team come in for him and offer Djed a good contract them he won't say no either.
But would that be the best for him? At the moment he is playing ever week, and thoroughly enjoying it, would he play week in week out for a "big" team?

What if we are a Premier League team next year?

We all know that Nottingham Forest fans love Djed Spence, but who could have predicted Arsenal fans falling in love with him?

Forest took on Arsenal in the FA Cup on Sunday evening and pulled off one of the great cup performances.

Lewis Grabban fired in the only goal of the game, converting from close range after a superb delivery from Ryan Yates.

Many Forest players turned in superb performances against Arsenal, with right wing back Spence starring yet again.

Snapped up on loan from Middlesbrough on deadline day in August, Spence has been a star at the City Ground.

After fears that he would be recalled by Boro this month, Spence is staying at Forest until the summer.

Sadly, a permanent move grows more and more unlikely with each superb performance.

Against Arsenal, Spence will have ultimately put himself in the sights of Premier League clubs.

Arsenal fans have been taking to Twitter to rave about Spence, claiming he was the best player on the park in Sunday’s game.

Others feel Spence was ‘superb’ and showed that he is ‘very talented’, with some even urging Arsenal to make a move to sign Spence soon.

Djed Spence will be in the Premier League very soon. Class RB.

Lewis Grabban came off the bench to secure a fabulous win for Nottingham Forest as they beat Arsenal 1-0 in the FA Cup.

The Reds deservedly clinched their place in the fourth round, putting in a terrific performance against their Premier League opponents.

Boss Steve Cooper named a strong line-up for the third round tie, and it was the hosts who had the better of the first half, enjoying several really positive moments in attack.

Djed Spence and Brennan Johnson caused so many problems down the right-hand side that Nuno Tavares was hooked by Gunners manager Mikel Arteta with little more than half an hour played.

Seemingly not injured, the defender had endured a torrid 30 minutes trying to keep tabs on the Reds duo. And he almost scored an own goal with a terrible back-pass which forced his goalkeeper into a save just 12 minutes in.

Not that Tavares thought much of the change, throwing his gloves to the floor as he departed.

Forest put together some lovely passing moves in the Arsenal half, with striker Keinan Davis impressing on his debut, and Spence and Johnson making some dangerous runs.

But for all their endeavour, the hosts struggled to forge a clearcut opening.

Not that the Premier League outfit had many chances either, in an entertaining, evenly-contested opening 45 minutes.

Ben White flashed an effort wide for the visitors early on, but it was still a quiet start to the fixture for Reds stopper Brice Samba.

January signing Steve Cook had contributed to a solid back line as the teams went in all-square at 0-0 at the break.

And the former Bournemouth man made a brilliant block to thwart Eddie Nketiah early in the second half.

Forest then went close to taking the lead with 53 minutes played. Philip Zinckernagel got on the end of a fabulous run and cross from Johnson, drawing Bernd Leno into a strong save with a driven effort.

The Gunners responded through Nketiah, who headed wide from Bukayo Saka’s ball, before James Garner drew Leno into action with a well-struck free-kick.

But, just as it looked like extra-time might be on the cards, the Reds found a breakthrough.

Fantastic link-up play between Johnson and Ryan Yates ended with the latter floating in a cross, which substitute Grabban stretched to poke home.

It secured a famous win for Cooper’s men as they sealed their place in the next round.

Here’s how Reds reporter Sarah Clapson rated the Forest players at the City Ground.

Brice Samba: Didn’t have a great deal to do, but ensured he caught the eye with a trademark one-handed catch from a corner. Rating: 7/10

Joe Worrall: Really solid. Arsenal barely had a look-in as the Reds back line stood firm. Made some important blocks and challenges to keep them at bay. Rating: 8/10

Steve Cook: Slotted into the Forest back line like he’d always been there. Pinged some lovely balls forward and earned a round of applause with a fabulous block to deny Eddie Nketiah. Promises to be a great signing. Rating: 8.5/10

Scott McKenna: Mr consistent did it again. That back three has the makings of being a formidable one for the Reds. Showed good awareness throughout. Rating: 8/10

Djed Spence: A standout showing by the right-back, constantly doing Djed Spence things as he tore the Gunners apart. Superb forward runs and strong defensively. A performance of real class against top-flight opposition. Rating: 9/10

Ryan Yates: Weighed in with an assist, just when the hosts needed it. Chipped in defensively, too, being alert to any danger. Rating: 7.5/10

James Garner: Terrific free-kick to force a strong save in the second half. Some of his other set-pieces weren’t always there, but plenty of neat passes to make up for that. Rating: 7.5/10

Jack Colback: Not an easy contest - up against Bukayo Saka when not in your favoured position. Stuck to his task throughout, though. Rating: 8/10

Philip Zinckernagel: Came so close to making the breakthrough, forcing a really good save from Bernd Leno. Involved in plenty of bright moments. Rating: 7/10

Keinan Davis: Excellent debut for the Aston Villa loanee. Proved a handful for the Arsenal ball line all night. Quickly got stuck in and showed strong hold-up play. Looks like he will have a lot to offer in the second half of the season. Rating: 8/10

Brennan Johnson: Had the measure of Nuno Taveres early on, so much so the Gunners man suffered the indignity of a first half substitution. Continued to put the visitors on the back foot with his awesome pace. Rating: 9/10

Subs

Lewis Grabban (for Davis, 67mins): What a contribution, coming off the bench to net the winner. Really had to stretch to get there, too. Rating: 8/10

Cafu (for Zinckernagel, 75mins): Played his part in a fine victory. Getting stuck in as soon as he came on. Rating: 7/10

Subs not used: Horvath, Figueiredo, Carvalho, Bong, Silva, Ojeda, Taylor.
