I'm looking at purchasing a hybrid electric / PHEV vehicle and I'm stuck with 2 or 3 different choices. Historically I've always been a saloon driver and after driving only Saab's for many, many years moved on to BMW then Mercedes after Saab went bust.
As a replacement and with my budget I'm looking at around a 2016/2017 year car and have pretty much narrowed it down to a BMW 330e or a Kia Optima. Ordinarily I would have gone straight for the BMW but in the same price range with the Kia I am getting better specced cars with lower miles and the balance of a 7 year warranty. With the BMW there would be no manufacturer warranty.
The Kia still looks quite nice IMHO but I'm obviously aware that the build quality may not be the same as a BMW, but the better overall spec and mileage for the same budget is giving me quite a dilemma. Does anyone have any experience with Kia at all? My mam had an i30 a few years ago which was pleasant enough and didn't have any issues for her at all in the 3 years she had it, but it was a little 'plasticcy' inside for want of a better way of putting it.
Another option, though largely discounted, is a Hyundai Ioniq as I don't really like it's looks though I understand they're reasonably highly rated in the hybrid / PHEV arena.
Any experiences with theese vehicles that you can share would be very much apprecaited. Cheers folks.
