Kilmarnock fans walking out after 20 mins

Rangers fans were holding a banner the other day saying "Sack the board- 2 trophies in 11 years is not good enough"
For most fans that would be wonderland

I presume the minnow sides are quite happy for the big boost in gate receipts when the two good teams are in town? I wonder how much of their income relies on that? Would the Scottish league be like the Welsh leages without the old firm?

I don't think it would be that extreme.

The Welsh league is poor because the 4 most populated cities in Wales have long established teams in the English football pyramid and it was only formed out of a fear of FIFA stripping Wales of their status as a footballing nation.

Cardiff, Swansea, Newport and Wrexham account for a third of the population of Wales, and that's not accounting for support from nearby areas, the Welsh league gets the scraps.

The dominant team in the Cymru Premier is from Oswestry, a little town in Shropshire.

Take the Old Firm out of the Scottish pyramid and you still have sizeable cities and fairly well supported clubs across Scotland in it.

There are other historic Glasgow clubs too, though they obviously draw a fraction of the crowds.

So they’re not even Welsh? That’s just hilarious.

I’d actually be happy to let all Scottish and Welsh clubs join the English pyramid and just make one big British pyramid. Obviously Rangers and Celtic would have to start at the bottom and play teams in the Northern League etc, but that might actually be quite interesting for their fans. It would definitely be interesting for most other Scottish teams, given they would be involved in some exciting promotion and relegation scraps 😂.

Personally I’d like to see Rangers & Celtic in the English leagues. Glasgow is a great city, they’d be able to attract players who otherwise wouldn’t go.
Heaven forfend.
There'd be bother everywhere they went. Look what Rangers fans did in Manchester at the UEFA cup final...and they weren't even playing a Manchester club. Celtic fans invading the pitch at halftime and fighting with Boro fans at a testimonial...a friendly FFS. Celtic fans caused bother at Sunderland at another friendly. And needless to say, a certain branch of the Celtic fans would turn up with their paramilitary agendas. Rangers fans fighting at Anfield in the Champions League...there's countless incidents.
It'd be a recipe for disaster.

Without the revenue the old firm bring, scottish football would end up in a massive financial black hole,no tv company would be interested in Ross County v St Johnstone AND ITS LIVE
The lower league clubs can make a years income in 1 match if they are lucky enough to get Rangers or Celtic visit them in the cup.

Wouldnt we be a similar version of Kilmarnock if we got promoted?

The only difference is we'd have 10 teams battering us rather than 2.

In fairness that is abysmal for Rangers.

Did they not go bankrupt and have to start from the bottom in this time? All time Celtic getting virtually free pass to all European competitions and cups and ultimately the money that goes with.

Are they expecting the board to overspend again and put club in jeopardy once again ??

Not winning the league is understandable, but not being able to bag a few more cups is pretty terrible. St Johnstone have won 3 cups in the same time period.

Yes and yes. UEFA are keeping a closer eye on them this time.

2 trophies in 11 years?

7 years ago they were still in the Championship.

So to be fair, it's 2 trophies in 6 years...and even then, the 2016/17 was their first season back in the top flight and not many teams in their first season in the top flight are in a position to win a trophy or two.

Celtic have been absolutely flawless these last few years as well.

Look at this season. They've dropped 5 points in 32 games FFS. 5 points. 30 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat in 32 league games.

Even if Rangers were better, they'd find it very difficult to knock Celtic off top spot this season. Celtic are on course to break their own record of 106 points. There's 6 games left and they'd need 16 points to beat it. I wouldn't be betting against them in doing it.
