Ladgate Lane roadworks at Marton Station

Has anyone else got this on the daily commute?
Been going on for weeks and all I see is a van parked up and the same hole in the road.

There were workmen there when I drove through yesterday evening - but it does seems to be a very long job. A lot of work going on this evening Stokesley Road over the Parkway in Marton.

It's a disgrace....what are they doing ? Been going on for weeks....
Putting in traffic lights and a pedestrian crossing. I think they're going to use the road across from the station as access to the new housing development

Marton Avenue traffic lights going in. That will be the new access road for the new estate behind, that is also accessed by turning in to the sports village. That also has traffic lights.

It was Ormesby station when I lived on Teesside, never realised it had changed!
Same here. I'm not sure of the sense of calling it Marton as it's right on the northernmost corner of what you'd call 'Marton'. It would have made more sense calling it Marton years ago when it was called Ormesby than it does now as Marton has spread so far south.

I wonder if it is because the actual station is in Marton - Ormesby is across the tracks and beck to the east. Admittedly a few yards away. But the two boroughs have always bickered about things like that.

It's a nightmare to be fair. Been taking me 30min+ to get from Normanby to Middlesbrough Sports Village for 6pm. Usually takes 10-15 mins.

Indeed. But if I was travelling to Marton, and had no knowledge of the area, and caught the train to Marton station then the chances are I would be a very long way from where I actually wanted to be. If it was seventy years ago then the chances are I would be a lot closer to where I wanted to be, but then perhaps I wouldn't have travelled to that station because it was called Ormesby.

There is always roadworks there or close to the bridge, I thought it was the waterboard as under the bridge often floods.

There was a crash outside Stewart's park last week and it just gridlocked the entire road as cars came through on green, blocked the single lane, and nobody could move.
