Has anyone else got this on the daily commute?
Been going on for weeks and all I see is a van parked up and the same hole in the road.
That's how I know it.It was Ormesby station when I lived on Teesside, never realised it had changed!
Putting in traffic lights and a pedestrian crossing. I think they're going to use the road across from the station as access to the new housing developmentIt's a disgrace....what are they doing ? Been going on for weeks....
Same here. I'm not sure of the sense of calling it Marton as it's right on the northernmost corner of what you'd call 'Marton'. It would have made more sense calling it Marton years ago when it was called Ormesby than it does now as Marton has spread so far south. It was Ormesby station when I lived on Teesside, never realised it had changed!
I wonder if it is because the actual station is in Marton - Ormesby is across the tracks and beck to the east. Admittedly a few yards away. But the two boroughs have always bickered about things like that.Same here. I'm not sure of the sense of calling it Marton as it's right on the northernmost corner of what you'd call 'Marton'. Indeed. But if I was travelling to Marton, and had no knowledge of the area, and caught the train to Marton station then the chances are I would be a very long way from where I actually wanted to be. If it was seventy years ago then the chances are I would be a lot closer to where I wanted to be, but then perhaps I wouldn't have travelled to that station because it was called Ormesby.I wonder if it is because the actual station is in Marton - Ormesby is across the tracks and beck to the east.
