Larsen it is then..........

Groningen are signing a replacement too, Hoppe's rival in the USMNT...

Leaves us with Gyokeres, Surridge or someone else. If CW wants experience, it'll be someone else.

Can’t quite understand why we need yet another striker having acquired Forss, Hoppe and Muniz to join Akpom and Watmore and will only play 1 up front and McGree at 10?
I agree probably need to give Muniz a go now with forss and Hoppe as back up ? Watmore as impact sub not sure where Akpom would fit in ?

Surely all these strikers haven’t signed for us (Middlesbrough FC) to be sat on the subs bench 🤔

🤣 Why are so many on here pretending to believe we'll never play 2 up front again? That Wilder wants 7 strikers to rotate one spot in the team but that Riley McGree will be eternal?

Because he did it and pre season, and since the season started….with fully fit strikers not getting off the bench. Maybe that?

Pre-season before we signed the strikers? Since the season started except for the first 4 matches?

It's clearly linked to Akpom getting injured. Wilder is synonymous with a system. The system has two forwards. He's trying to sign another striker and we'll probably have 6 on the books whatever happens. Give your heads a wobble and rest assured we most likely will in fact be using 2 up front most games for the rest of the season.

So is he coming here or celta vigo?

Our offer of £10m is slightly more than celta vigo's offer of €11m

What's the point in bringing in more strikers if he's just playing 1 up top and McGree behind!!! It's baffling...why not play Forss who is meant to be our best finisher?
EXACTLY. What plan, if any was behind doing precisely what Watford needed to have a chance of winning the game? What must Muniz have thought being isolated up front with an occasional lamp over the bar from a vastly overrated McGree?

He’s trying to influence the recruitment to get that ‘top’ striker before he’s starts playing the two . Wilder is just trying to make a point playing the one for now

So Chris Wilder, a man with 20 years managerial experience, is deliberately forfeiting points (or an extra advantage to gain points) to persuade Neil Bausor to sign a 7th striker?

Ok. It’s clear now.

Muniz
Forss
Hoppe
Coburn
Akpom
Watmore

And we want more ?

And we still only played with one last night 🤔
I'm not saying I agree with all his views on this (in fact I quite decidedly don't agree) but Wilder has said Coburn should go out on loan and both Hoppe and Forss "are younger lads [signed] from a development point of view." (Sometimes referred to as "projects" for the future).

Hence his apparent desire for another, more senior striker.

As I say, I disagree - I think Coburn showed enough last season (and played enough minutes) to be worth putting in the first team more often this season rather than going out on loan and given their age and experience (including at international level) both Hoppe and Forss should be capable of being more than mere development projects. Or at least when signing them, we should have been looking for something more than just development potential.
