A sad way for her to exit the competition (assuming a 3 match ban). It was petulant, but violent conduct? Not sure
TBF she was barely in the game anyway, Nigeria and Alozie did a great job frustrating her all game.

Anyway, luckily Alozie's butt is fine :)

It's just a moment of madness, frustration that has boiled over. Unfortunately I think she's probably ended her own tournament, and perhaps our chances of progressing much further too.

That will always be deemed violent conduct, I'm not sure you can call standing on a player anything else. It's not guaranteed 3 match ban (the fact there was no aggression may save her from a longer ban) but it's very likely to be. She will learn a lot from that, thankfully it didn't take us losing the game for her to learn it - but it will be really sad if that's how her first World Cup ends.

I don't know about that. We'll need to change the way we line up but there's enough up front with Toone/Daly/Kelly/Hemp/Russo/England for us to be dangerous even without James. I do hope that she's able to avoid a 3 match ban though, as unlikely as that is.

I think that's fair comment, there are other good options but it just feels all the more frustrating as we have been weakened going into and during the tournament by injuries as it is. This just feels like yet another setback to overcome.

You're not wrong about that. I still believe that we're strong enough, but we need Sarina to earn her money now. I have no idea how you fit those 5 together in a side. But if she can find a way, we should still have too much for most sides.

Smirked at the ref when she was given a red. Dropped her team in it. Hope she learns from it.

in just about every major tournament the eventual finalists will usually have a tough game, one which they may not deserve to win even. The true test of the winning mentality is how they cope and find a way to get through…. That’s what they did today.
Lauren James will be regretting the moment of madness now, and she is a talent … but, England won the Euros last year without her. Keeping Keira Walsh fit is arguably more important … and it’s not like they’re already having to do it without he captain (Leah Williamson). There are plenty of other talents in there… Russo has some star quality as does Rachel Daly, then there is Chloe Kelly who is the girl for the big stage. Germany and USA are out, surely every reason to be a little bit confident … come on England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

It looked to me as though she was trying to stop herself from crying to be honest. Especially when she was about to walk down the tunnel. She will absolutely know that she messed up. I'm sure she'll learn from it. I'm glad that we got though, it would have been a lot for her to deal with if we'd gone out.

'Keeping Keira Walsh fit is arguably more important ' I haven't seen anything from Kiera so far this tournament that's been outstanding. We seem to have played better without her. Lauren Hemp too has been disappointing
Of the four games, China apart, it's been the defence that have been standout (plus Lauren James' goals and assist obviously)

It's been quite a difficult tournament for England so far. But that's also what's made this WC so good, so many tight games for many of the 'big' teams and those surprise exits. I still think we might accidently win this!

She'll have to learn from it because she's just put a big "come and wind me up" target on her back now.

It wasn't even lashing out in anger (which is sometimes a bit more understandable) but rather it was petulant and quite probably symptomatic of her young age. Part of her knew what she was doing, but was that fed up/frustrated, in the moment she didn't care.

She deserves a 3 match ban, she's let herself down and more importantly her team....hard lesson to learn but she will always be remembered for his and that will be tough for her....
