letter from simon clarke today

Hi new member.

Which one do you work for then? Simon or Jacob?
I wasn't trying to be on anybodies side it was meant to be a serious question I wish I hadn't bothered if all you get is abuse...for info I've been onthis site for a number years and this name for months

Can I ask why you changed your name?

I’ve been here cpl month and it seems a common theme, any new poster seems to chastised if expressing an opinion not popular with the crowd.

For it’s worth I’ve not seen the Clarke one, but someone posted the young letter on here.

It was an update on teesworks. Whilst obviously walking a fine line, it’s not “electioneering” therefore isn’t breaking rules, in my humble opinion.

God forbid pointing it out though… accusations will come thick n fast!

Would I have got the letter if there wasn't an election due shortly.

Probably not but on the young one there was nothing asking anyone to vote for him or the tories. I don’t think. Does the Clarke one mention voting for him or the party, if not it’s not electioneering per say, therefore doesn’t break the rules.

I have no doubt when labour win the election come 2028/29 you’ll see the same thing, I would say it’s taken advantage of the rules, as opposed to breaking them.

I’d rather they didn’t waste taxpayers money doing it but it’s not for me to change the rules

Apologies if it was asked in good faith. But it was exactly the sort of deflection you'd expect from the camps of our local tory MPs.

I was going to say where did insult you, but then realised if someone accused me of working for Jacob Young or Simon Clarke I'd be very insulted. So fair enough!

And in the one I got it had massive letters about Labour council costs , yet the word 'Conservative' was in tiny letters at the bottom when saying who'd published it

Thats because the same old "new poster" turn out to be "ex labour but coildnt vote for anyone now whilst trying to deflect threads away from tory criticism to labour criticism , normally with no relevance to the topic, they disappear and up pops a new one

I do think he will struggle to get back in - the Brexit voting effect has gone which helped him in 2017 and 2019. His Constituency contains a lot of low income areas, i.e. most of Ormesby, Park End, Berwick Hills, Loftus, Brotton, Skelton, Carlin How, Skinningrove etc - people who rely fully on public services, many who will be receiving some State help. A lot of ex services who would not have voted for Corbyn but may for Starmer.
New Boundaries mean Berwick Hills have moved into Middlesbrough and Thornaby East, & Saltburn have moved into Redcar. Not that it makes a huge difference, MSEC has always been a bell weather constituency, Clarke is toast and he knows it.

The comment by the ten didn’t say anything like that, actually what he said is factually correct as per my other post.

Problem is some see new poster and pounce as he isn’t piling in, even if the pile in is actually incorrect in terms that it’s not electioneering.

Same happened with me when I pointed out the ex Royal Mail boss may not be telling the truth but was told that he clearly was and the tories have to be lying…. That story soon dried up though, so I would hazard a guess there was no smoking gun to begin with, every new poster isn’t some Tory plant but everyone is treated like one if they dare saying that doesn’t fit with the majority

Looking at this and other posts I seriously think that the name of this forum should change from FMTTM to 'Looney Lefties', most are thick as mince and should keep attending the school debates.
