I think it was the first penalty Utd had conceded at Old Trafford for something like 7 seasons.
Juninho missed it after finally being allowed to take it.

The ultimate irony to this though was the FA did bring in a ruling after this and guess who was the first to be done under it.

Yeah would agree with that. I’d also mention Jason Tindall, Eddie Howe’s assistant. He’s another whose main role seems to be to be on the fourth official for the entirety of the game.

I remember a call on the 3 legends back in the day and this Newcastle fan rang in, saying he sits right on the side line near to the linesman and he said he when the opposition are attacking he shouts offside at him throughout the game even when he knows full well that’s it’s not and said it’s unbelievable how many times he’s influenced him by being so intimidating.

Peed me off that call and I’ve always remembered it. As you say Eddie Howe was notorious in that season at Bournemouth for well blatant cheating and conning intimidating refs look at how many pens they got that year.
