Linesman elbows Robertson

This is different. Robertson is being aggressive towards the linesman and puts his hands on him which you can’t do. Robertson 100% in the wrong.

So your argument is that putting your hands on an official is against the rules justifying an official elbowing a player?

I think the fact he has made PL level & you have not makes him decent ......but when it comes down to local level & players grab/or push you .....its all fine then for people with zero protection ?

Defo prison for the linesman then! An absolute abomination of a travesty.. could have killed him. He should be sent to Guantanamo Bay for this.. this is the worst thing to happen in the entire history of the world.

(Just trying get on the right side of the baying mob for once)

i mean if you let it go there does it not filter down ?.....i think the majority of replies are telling you that you are wrong , but what do we all know ...you are a ref apparently !!

The punishment for dissent by action or words is either a caution or a red card, not an elbow to the face.

Brushing an officials arm isn’t a red card.

Which bit are you having trouble with?

There's massive problems in the game and they concentrate on stuff like VAR which only the elite get. We have had a number of of offsides against us this season but the games go you move on. Human error has always been apart of it.

They need to cut out this abuse of officials, time waisting and constant cheating. They can do this easily by giving the officials more power on the pitch.

That was a fantastic game today but tainted by teams and managers abusing the rules of fair play for me.

Robertson had not reason to remonstrate or confront the linesman, what did he expect to achieve, a change of decision which would never happen. If the linesman gets banned what does that tell you about the PGMOL and their respect for officials and their safety in future games.

I'm not sure he does put his hands on him, they are learning from Mitrovic already, but he does have a strange body posture like he is leaning in to him, and the linesman does react to it like to move him him away with his forearm but it just went wrong because the player moved back slightly and the linesman's elbow connected with the underside of his chin.
Two things that I take from that,
1)the linesman shouldn't have moved his arm he should have stopped and either alerted the ref to the intimidation - and that's what it was from the player nothing else or very clearly turned his back on the player, I think the linesman will face repercussions but I hope minimal at most because ....
2) the player is trying to intimidate the linesman,f he is in his personal space and right up to his face and leaning into him and a stupid waft of the forearm from the linesman now turns into something allegedly more sinister,, I genuinely feel sorry for him. II hope whatever happens to the linesman then Robertson get some form of ban as well.

Keane absolutely nailed it.. stop whining like a bitch and get your own game in order.

Nothing in it for me. Robertson grabs his arm, he shrugs him off and accidentally makes contact.

Move on.
Coming from Keane, he was one of the worst abusers of officials when he was playing, none stop in their faces and chasing referee's around the pitch, pity he didn't take his own advice.
