Mackem game on sky

As obvious as it is, the game changed with Diallo’s superb strike. Luton were well in control at that point, with their ultra competitive attitude. Good championship side without too many frills. Sunderland edged the second half with a decent goal. Luton got worse the longer the game went on. Be close in the second leg, maybe slight advantage to Sunderland, but really not much in it. Neither team carved the other one open.
if we play well against Coventry and get through to Wembley, don’t think we have a lot to worry about.

Absolute donkey of a player.

He did some comms on sky and sounded just as thick as you would expect from how he plays.
Thick as a leg of mince . Doing well at Mackems 🤪🤪😁 seriously can't think of any of their players I'd exchange for any of ours . Racking my brain here . There's alot to be said with their 12th 13th and 14th man. Yep we all know their crowd huge and obviously helps ... we've got to totally be like their crowd were today at our home leg .. surely gotta be better than Monday gone ... Coventry totally outlying us Monday ... we had total lax feel all thru match . I deffo was not the only one to be enjoying Covs celebrations at end of match . For 2300 fans was feckin great.. as good as any of our away followings this season. Please please please don't let us do a sheff we'd at Peterborough. Would be worst feeling ever . Imagine how many fans at 4... 0 down would say fook it .. 40 quid down drain and not turn up . Scared me watching Wednsday the other night . No way can that happen to us ... yep fan of 45 yrs here and yes ( boro always let us down ) even when get to Euro final haha . My Nxuety and nerves are shot to **** again .. not for first time with our lads . At beginning of this season I'd been happy to stay in chimpship . Love the Chimpship . Hate Prem . Relegation fight from day 1. Money talks . Parachute payments talk sometimes. .. hate prem . Match of day getting walloped nearly every week ... love the Champship . Capacity crowds cis we doing well . Prem .. plastic fans hate getting beat ... they love big teams ... Relegation fight .. less fans .... everyone ***ed off instead of buzzing. We can't compete . Give me top end chimpship fight every year . ... sorry just thinking like our main man Gibbo .. chimpship moneyspinner . We never ever ever ever gonna achieve what we did earlier part of this century.... we all have hope but seriously...never ever never ever never ever .. all this from a boro fan from age of 6 45 yrs ago

Luton bossed them till the lad scored a wonder goal for the mackems. That lad has a wand of a left foot. I wouldn’t fancy playing them with our suspect defence if I’m honest. Having said that they aren’t exactly brilliant at the back themselves ……….. But they do have Mogga - is it one defeat he’s had as a manager against us ? I can see them getting to the final now they have a lead - the question is can we get there too 🤔

Come on. It was a good game of football. Sunderland played some very nice stuff IMO. Roberts, Traore, Pritchard, Clarke… I liked watching some of their wing play, their control of the ball, how they could squirm out of tight spaces and open up the pitch. They have some good qualities to them. They are trying to play out from the back with a load of young lads and they all show for the ball. I thought it was a good watch.
Absolutely. The amount of bigots on this board and sheer clueless Football knowledge is hilarious (cue diego of indeedio to come & offer their special brand of that)
Sunderland are trying to do what we are doing under Mogga and I was cheering for them because Luton are a modern day Wimbledon and utter tripe.
To have to watch that every week. Jesus.

Luton will beat Sunderland at their place. Surprised to see Sunderland as favourites to qualify for Wembley.
As well as I thought they did yesterday, I agree with you and think Luton will go through. I have the feeling that this second leg will be one of those mental 5-3, 6-2 sort of games you sometimes get in the playoffs.

Sunderland won 12 away in the league, best form of any club, if I recall Sky commentator right..

So they will be hopeful of getting a result there.. also Luton list 21 points after taking the lead..

Luton don't control the ball which means they are almost always on the defensive..

Watching yesterday Luton didn't like it when Sunderland could run at their defenders.. they gave away freekicks & looked to pack the middle of their own half..

If you can break down their attacks & counter into space they are going to rack up yellows & reds..

Sunderland are very much in this & I'd anticipate they'll make the final..

I don't disagree with most of what you say. I think Luton go through for a couple of reasons.

Sunderland may have a good away record, but what's it like against the top 10 teams? I don't know,to be honest.

Luton depends on set pieces for a fair number of their chances and goals. They will get the rub of the green at their place more fouls and set pieces.

Lutons pitch is small, quite a bit smaller that sol and that compacts play which suites Luton.

1 goal advantage won't be enough, in my opinion, of course.

I thought you might have sobered up by now.
Clearly not.

You think Luton could score 5 or 6 in a game? They would need a lot of set pieces for that. They created very little yesterday and look absolutely devoid of flair in the team.

Luton scored 1.23 goals per game across the season. Would take something quite extraordinary for them to hit 5 or 6 in a single game.
