Maddo is like a broken record

Him and Drury are awful to listen to together. They have no chemistry and at times it's difficult to tell whether they're having banter or not.

Like on Saturday, Maddo made some sort of comment about sportsmanship, to which Drury replied about being a Corinthian. You could tell by Maddos' response it had gone over his head and after Drury replied 'That's why you're not a Corinthian' there was an awkward silence between them.

Yes it was a bit frosty that

Maddo response don’t know what your on about

Said it all.

To be fair to maddison hes good at spotting our flaws not getting a man in front on throwings and the number of times we throw the ball away and people being out of position. I think he knows how he used to play and how to be a professional team. I dont think he understands the attacking side and see's it as a fan. Cant fault his passion.

Drury and his skits come across as point-scoring and one-upmanship.
He also sounds like a poor mans Soccer Saturday - spending too much time telling us about other teams and their games when we are in play and missing key decisions.
I dont pay to have a talking ticker-tape.
The BBC will justify their content, but Drury for me doesnt cut the mustard.

Maddo is great. A good ex-pro who knows the game very well but isnt pretending to be a journalist. And he loves the Boro. I really like him
I am surprised that people dont like him as summariser, I really am.
The other fella is a nob and I wish they would get shot of him. he thinks he is funny but he really isnt. it gets more annoying by the game.

Its been said many times that we were spoilt with Ali for so many years - loved the Boro but, most importantly, commentated the game to a radio audience so well.
This no.b cant even tell when theres a goal without leaving you guessing if there was and which team it was for

Awful to listen to - but tbf I suppose the same stream is going out to radio which is a bit of a different skill to TV.
I went for the red button tonight but it was atrocious.
During the penalty....is it a goal/is it not there was no supporting commentary at all.
Injury time - found out it was 7 minutes elsewhere

Radio is about painting an aural picture in the mind of the listener.
Its about describing not just the game, but putting everything in context and moving - like describing a film to someone who has no sight.
Ali had passion, theatricality and a natural Boro whit and humour which instantly endeared him to us fans.
He was an artist and his brushes were his voice.
His words were the colours and he could create a vivid active picture in any listeners mind.
What we heard today was a poor imitation - but it took the likes of Ali to bring the best out of Maddo.
Ali was not stuck up himself - he was a natural,

I used to tape ali's broadcasts on TDK tape cassette.
Then I'd edit them to create a 'greatest hits'.......I loved the boro so much back in the day.

"He's round one, he's round two,
This could be the goal of the season,
Oh my word, ???? ???? class every inch of the way"

Anyone name the scorer?

I’m going to guess one of three

Stampy v Man City
Hendrie v millwall
Rippers v shef
