Making stuff last a little bit longer

At the shops,take one grape to the till. It won't register on the low-tech, insensitive scales so you will get it for free. Repeat this procedure 100 times or so and you have yourself a free bunch of grapes.
 
I put glass candle jars into a pan of boiling water and then pour the melted wax into another jar (with a new wick). Makes the house smell amazing and eventually you get a lovely multi-layered candle!
 
Make do and mend!

pants - I have to be forced to throw them away. Some have been going quite a few years now! Still going strong.

Just chucked my fave pants away, much to the delight of Mrs H

They're 20+ years old and have seen plenty good times :cry:
 
I've just done the highly satisfactory double of merging the last sliver of the old soap bar with the new one, and getting the last of the three extra washes out of a Fairy Liquid bottle you can get when you think it's empty. Any others?
Yes. Britt Assombalonga- out of any desire to play football for the Club given a strip, told to sit on the bench and then thrown on with 8 mins to go in the desperate hope of wringing out any tiny bit of quality he may or may not have lingering in that big frame of his.
 
Those sponge scourers you use to clean the pans....cut them in half with a pair of scissors. You only ever use a small bit of the scourer anyway. Makes the pack last twice as long 💥✌️👍
Loofahs are good for that and they're organic not plastic.
