Marcus Browne Instagram Story

Marcus Browne's positive attitude since having his injury has been so admirable. He seems committed to the Boro and I really hope he can build on the genuine flashes of quality he's shown (from very limited opportunities) to build a great Boro career. Get behind the kid.

I think he'd play until payero settled In unless he takes morsys space

Lots of competition for places in a midfield three.

Howson/Payero
Morsy/Downes or Doyle 69?
Tavernier/Mpanzu

Quality players that can be effective in a number of positions.. Tav can play further up the pitch also.

As for Browne
I thought he was showing to be highly effective before his injury
I think he is a good player this lad.👍
He was elbowing his way to a starting position impressing over more established players. We genuinely missed his contribution after the injury.

Players and their agents try to squeeze the most from a club and that is their right if they do it in a ethical way.

The agent may say to the club what is best offer or

My player wants £20k/week

Taking the second option - lets say no acceptable club has come back and said Yes by now. There is a temptation for the player to say I will wait till someone does. Knowing clubs get more desperate as we get closer to the season. What is interesting is the last few days often the player and his agent get desperate as clubs turn roud and say I have done my business.

Certainly the loan market really opens up close to the deadline and supply can even exceed demand.

My thinking is leave a couple of slots for loan players that come available in late August but do the rest of your business in July. Next week say to prospective players thats the deal - in 48 hours its gone or if we sign a similar player it goes straightaway. You also have to deduce if the player really wants to come or you are been used as a lever for him to go somewhere else. If I was Boro I would always get the player up to Rockcliffe and say do you want to be part of this?

Am I reading too much into this….MB couldn’t say it was a done deal, otherwise club would kill him. But surely if Pelly had said he was going elsewhere, MB wouldn’t have posted that on tease to Boro fans?

God knows. One of them ‘ITK’ posters from one boro reckons Mpanzu is going somewhere else. Maybe Browne shouldn’t have posted it but you live you learn.

It has seemed to have dragged on a lot longer given our interest has been known for a while. Hunting around for biggest pay day I guess - can’t blame him.

It was Mpanzu's birthday party, so it could just be that they know each other and he's still going elsewhere.

Not sure I believe it tbh he seems to have an awful lot to say with none of coming off. Pretty sure he said hoilett had signed a contract

Yeah true he doesn’t get an awful lot right. There is a couple more on there who seem to get more right than him

I'm friends with a couple of West Ham youth coaches and both of them speak highly of Marcus. He was really unlucky with injuries last. Remember NW wanted to move him on early doors but he put his head down and didn't get disheartened. I hope he gets over his injury and comes good, because i think he'll be an asset.
