Paying too much out, can a club afford to be paying players in the region of 200 - 500 per week without massive sponsorship bankrolling it all, if you have a budget for the season stick with it!!

All this money getting pumped in to raise 125,000 but never reached this target where does the money go, back to the people who generously donated it?

Leaving a sinking ship…. And didn’t they just advertise at the weekend about ‘spirit of 86’
They must be the Peter beagries of this team!

Not like a Stockton Town fan to stick the boot in to Marske!🤔 I don’t know all the facts but from what I have picked up: The previous Chairman oversaw a lot of success but in the last season gave the management team a budget to work on which was based on inaccurate forecasts and the club found itself with financial difficulties as a result. This is when he stood down. The club looked to raise money through a share issue which would have put them on a stable footing to clear debts and allow them time to manage the playing budget down, the club has been sustainable for years prior to this. The league seemed alright with the share issue but the FA stepped in and said there was a lot more to the process and it would take several months so they had to suspend it. This led to the league asking a lot of questions about why the share issue was needed and they were asked to demonstrate they had enough money for the rest of the season and to clear their debts, this is the £120k. I suspect a lot of league clubs couldn’t demonstrate they have all of that money up front. This led to the fund raising effort which looks to have fallen short despite a huge effort and generous donations from fans of many clubs including Boro. The money donated will be used to clear debts which should mean the club can hopefully remain as Marske United and restart next season with a relegation of 2-3 leagues (to be decided by league). If they had not been able to clear these debts they would have had to fold and re-start under a completely new name. Spike and Clarky have been brilliant and gone with the complete blessing of the club and its fans, it was always understood they were far too good to be managing at the lower level which now looks highly likely. Marske had probably reached a level just too high for them with the budgets required and were a victim of their own success in some ways but of course, you have to manage budgets better and everyone knows mistakes have been made
