Matty Nixon is better than Drury

I just really like how Matty Nixon commentates - he says what he sees and doesn’t do what drury does ; brings up random stuff that is not relevant and for me is a distraction to the action.
IDrury comes across as having a big ego (I hope he reads this board) because he needs to reign himself in…Matty Nixon is the opposite, confident in his ability to tell the story of the game….but humble through the process.

I get the impression Drury’s a knowledgeable fella, probably more suited to writing about the game or producing documentaries than commentary. His programme about the Carling Cup win was decent imho.

I stopped listening ages ago.
Couldn't be doing with him getting unnecessarily excitable in my opinion when the opposition scored.
And his running gag of announcing that X team haven't won at the Riverside in X seasons resulting in an immediate jinx

Dreary is more interested in laughing at his own quips than actually describing whats going on. He is very arrogant and self opinionated team nixon for me

Exactly. I think drury gets bored because this isn’t his strength - like another poster said, he’s more suited to documentary making etc.

That's sort of how I see it as well. To be very generous to him, I'd also say he suffers from Maddo never understanding what the jokes supposed to be. I get the impression Drury wants to present something more like what Micah Richards/Neville/Carragher/Keane do when they're commentating on stuff together. The jokes are always dreadful though.
