May election?

Wouldn't surprise me now, Sunak is a lame duck and the Tories are just bouncing from scandal to scandal.

There will be enough MP's in the Tory Party who can see the oblivion they face if they just hang around. They will just want to limit that oblivion and hope they are the ones left standing.

I think they know the longer they wait the worse it will be and if they go to the wire they look even more desperate.
 
Isn't the latest chance to announce it sometime around the 26th of March?
It seems they're hanging around hoping that something will turn up. Not exactly a dynamic strategy, is it?

I’m watching c4 news and seen the Westminster comments about MPs chit chat….interesting…
Sunak, I think is probably going to think that he is flogging a dead horse by waiting given the unruly backbenchers making it virtually impossible to govern.
I think this Diane Abbott scandal is the last straw…
I’m feeling something big is coming in the next few days….

Yeah they've not got long 25 working days notice I think? And it pretty much has to be the same time as the local elections if it is May.
 
This was immediately stop any other news as well as it would take over the news cycles plus any hostile questions would stop as well.
 
There was also a comment on sky tonight saying that the Gaza issue could be resolved by the autumn which wouldn’t be helpful to the conservatives as they think there is a difficulty for labour currently.
 
I suspect that the little bit of growth in the economy that was announced today will be the only bit of good news they will get in the coming months. So even though the bookies have it at 3/1, I'd not be surprised if an election was called this weekend for 2nd May.
