Given his recent performances under Carrick, has anyone changed their mind about McGree ?

I think he is finding his groove in a system that suites his style, and he is undoubtedly a very decent player.

Long may it continue, he has a huge part to play in our future success.

Thought he was average last night - link up play second half was a lot better than the first, but needs to do a little bit more imo.

New position? New tactics? Give him the benefit of the doubt. He is a decent player definitely.👍

I've always liked him but he was exceptional last night. Best player on the park for me.

We're really playing to his strengths now - good control, vision and passing. He linked up nearly every attacking move last night, moving the ball quickly, playing the correct pass and keeping the pace up.

Now he's our only player missing for the 4 week break I wonder how that will work with others having that time under Carrick's training?
And if Australia do really well he may miss the next League game

No. Consistently said he is a good player. And he is.

Technically is probably our best midfielder, one of the few that actually looks forwards when receiving the ball. Much better going forwards then doing the defensive side of things so looks good when we play good against poor teams but leaves us exposed against stronger teams. Poor finisher and gives the ball away too often.

In summary, he's not bad. Better offensively than defensively but not good enough offensively to play so far forward. Hopefully we can bring someone in to play that position and he can be the backup. Even more hopefully, he just improves the areas where he is weak and he becomes that better player. He's technically good enough so you'd hope a bit of good coaching can improve those mental and physical attributes.
