Middlesbrough Train Station

I wonder who fabricated the steelwork and who is installing it?

Come to think of it, who is the Main Contractor?

Looking for Tees Valley connections.

Jingye Group, China's leading steelmaker and multinational conglomerate, acquired British Steel in March 2020 and started a new era in British steelmaking.”

“Scunthorpe Steelworks, England – primary blast furnace based production – bloom, billet, sections, slab, rail and wire rod and is the largest steel factory in the UK.”
Port Talbot is owned by Tata

Remember looking around my daughter's old Primary School (in Stockport) and supporting the stage in the hall, about 10-12m long, was a huge steel beam with "Dorman Long Middlesbrough" stamped on.

Brought a little tear to my eye 🥲
Whilst on the tools, I was at an Induction at Pre-Star in Cambridgeshire regarding welding the chassis of the Vauxhall Vectra (the robots kept on messing them up) and was staring into space. The guy giving the induction asked me if there was something more interesting on the ceiling than on his slides. Yes I replied, that beam above your head was made two miles from where I live and by a company that provided steel for projects around the world. Maybe if you had used that steel instead of importing it, you wouldn’t be having any issues.

It is great to see steel work with Dorman Long stamped on it.

We were walking over a little footbridge right up in the north of Scotland last year with Dorman Long Middlesbrough all over it, you are right there is something about it that brings down the mist.

Aye Cameron and houchen did their best didn't they .......
What do you think Cameron should have done? Given it was a privately owned company.

There are hundreds of reasons why steel making was no longer viable on Teesside. Other than it being ran at a huge loss, the damage to the environment from that place was nothing short of a disgrace.
